27th October 2026 | IN DESIGN ADVICE | BY SBID Share Tweet Pinterest LinkedIn Paul Lambert, Business Owner of Grace & Favour, has given his insights into the industry. Grace and Favour work with you to get from your initial design ideas into reality and through to completed build. We fully project manage the entire process and build a relationship with you so we are aligned in delivery of expectations. With more than 30 years of design and build experience and a portfolio of projects to determine our credentials, we are here to work with you to deliver your dream space. Grace & Favour Grace & Favour What are the origins of the brand? The name comes from my daughter, Grace. The term ‘Grace and Favour’ is primarily used when a property is gifted, usually a property owned by a monarch or a government and given to someone to live in rent-free as a perk of their job or as a reward for public service. In my definition, it’s hoping that the business does well enough that I can ‘gift’ a property to my daughter, Grace. Grace & Favour How do your products and services enhance interior design projects? Being from a high end retail design and build background means we are incredibly adept at project management alongside having a design led understanding of how to deliver what our clients need. From our clients direction on the style, look and feel they require we then take this brief and develop into a design that can be realised. We also partner with numerous manufacturers, suppliers and products that will ensure we can be at the top of new trends and product / material knowledge. Grace & Favour What value does your specialist sector add to the industry? We deliver a full end to end service, we build a real relationship with all our clients to ensure we deliver their dream, they can see it visualised, understand the scope, give full clarity on the cost and specification and always ensure to give firm start and end dates. Grace & Favour How do you work with interior designers? Always happy to partner where projects are appropriate and will happily share ideas and assist others within our field. Grace & Favour What has been your most significant company highlight or success from the past year? Having just completed a full house redesign and build it’s great to get to completion with happy clients after being in their home for a full year, lots of challenges working on a complete home with each space being unique. Storage challenges as in any new build style property alongside requiring bespoke furniture and ultimately, making Lego displays that look incredible! Grace & Favour What are the latest trends you’ve noticed in your client’s requests? Individuality, lots of colour and clever practical uses of space, particularly in the smaller homes as we have in the main UK house build style. A softening of styles, deeper and richer colours with natural materials being specified. How do you see the interior design industry evolving in the year ahead? AI! We are seeing lots of clients proposing designs using AI and whilst I think it’s excellent for process and procedure, for design, feeling and creativity, it can’t replicate understanding a client and delivering on real life expectations. Grace & Favour Is there anything new you are excited to be working on? We are always excited for each new project ! We are currently promoting our latest Bedford project with some incredible solutions for storage and very cool Lego displays!
