As part of SBID’s aim to ensure the Interior Design industry prepares ’emerging designers’ with the correct learning tools and skills to become ‘professional interior designers’, SBID created Centres of Excellence forming part of SBID’s registration and incorporation prospectus.
Centres of Excellence are hubs to share research and knowledge, as well as give opportunities for students to regularly engage and network with interior design professionals and potential future employers. SBID and Centres of Excellence promote at regional level with opportunities for students to engage in competitions, mentoring and talks by design experts.
To achieve ‘Centre of Excellence’ status, educational establishments must meet the SBID vision, values and commitment to improving professionalism in the interior design industry. The university must have already achieved SBID Accreditation of Interior Design BA or MA courses.
SBID are committed to providing university accreditation to support educational institutions providing courses in interior design.
