Coya is a symbol of a new attitude: its design embraces the openness to contrasts and unconventional design approaches and makes the fitting a mediator between geometries. Perfectly fitting, then, that it is the first product to be launched under Dornbracht’s new brand claim “Inspiring your vision”. From the spout to the rosettes to the handles, every detail reflects this special design language. Softly moulded handles are an immediate invitation to touch. “For us, it was about the beauty that lies in contradiction,” explains designer Michael Sieger. “Coya is neither round nor angular and therefore defies clear categorisation. At first glance, it seems surprising, almost counter-intuitive. Only to appear incredibly coherent at the same time.”
The complex combination of circle and square, characterised by soft transitions – the socalled squircle – is entirely committed to the transitional style: a mixture of traditional and contemporary elements that balances the tried and tested with the new. Existing boundaries are set in motion here, becoming fluid and redefined. “Thanks to its hybrid form, Coya unites very different worlds,” says Caroline Schmitt, General Management Dornbracht. “It is therefore perfect for individually designed rooms that do not follow a single, consistent style, but many at the same time,” she concludes.
The introduction of Coya goes hand in hand with an overall concept for all areas of application, including in a comprehensive range of finishes. Dornbracht's intensive finishes show up particularly well on the flat shape – whether Chrome, Champagne (22kt Gold), or Brushed Bronze. A product range that extends from the washbasin to the bath, shower, and accessories also ensures that Coya's unique design is reflected throughout the bathroom. Numerous customisation options that can be implemented via Dornbracht Atelier, such as interchangeable handle inlays, complete the range – and demonstrate the impressive versatility of the fitting.

Tailored solutions starting at one piece: Dornbracht Atelier stands for individuality with outstanding manufacturing quality. The new business segment from the German fittings manufacturer offers architects and designers maximum creative freedom to express their own style – and to create unique, unmistakable solutions.
With Dornbracht Atelier, the manufacturer opens access to its intangible heritage for all creative people, which has been enriched through knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship over the last 75 years. This expertise forms the basis for Dornbracht Atelier, which realises personal wishes and visions with style and reliability.
This opens a spectrum of almost limitless possibilities and an inexhaustible platform of experimentation for innovations, which the manufacturer realises with its own department, and in collaboration with competent cooperation partners: The supreme discipline here is the development and realisation of truly unique items. Working with new and unusual materials, finishes, production techniques, and shapes also allows customised fittings and handles to be created. Customers can, for example, incorporate their own material preferences and thus take up and continue the design concept in the bathroom. Unique engravings and customised dimensions complete the range.
One fitting in particular illustrates the possibilities of Dornbracht Atelier in an impressive way: Inspired by a swan elegantly spreading its wings, it exemplifies the high degree of individualisation that Dornbracht Atelier offers. Harmonious proportions, top-quality workmanship, precision, and attention to detail play a decisive role.
Dornbracht showcases several examples of how a wide variety of materials can be used to create spectacular individual pieces. These include a black and white version of Vaia with a shell finish: the contemporary interpretation of the traditional chequerboard pattern requires the highest level of craftsmanship, and creates a dynamic, unconventional look. Tara is similarly original with its velvet and gold body. The elegant contrast between matte and polished surfaces creates a strong visual appeal and a high level of sensory ambivalence. CYO, framed in leather, is equally inspiring: skilfully crafted, the fitting combines opulence and sophistication, with the material symbolising a sense of style and timeless luxury. For Vaia, with a finish made from recycled eggshells, mosaics are put together according to the customer’s wishes – creating a direct connection to nature.

Dornbracht is returning to HIX this year, revealing a new Brushed Light Gold finish and displaying a strong focus on capabilities for bespoke hospitality projects. Christian Sieger, owner of Sieger Design, which is responsible for the design of many Dornbracht fittings, will join Dornbracht in hosting a meet and greet on 27 November, offering insight into the creation process of the manufacturer’s iconic and enduring fittings.
MEM will be displayed on stand in the new Brushed Light Gold finish alongside the Vaia in Brushed Bronze and the more traditional lines of Madison in Brushed Dark Platinum. With designs to suit both contemporary and traditional projects, these finishes are set to inspire the A&D community as Dornbracht presents a move towards warmer fittings in hospitality, particularly in high end specifications. Brushed Light Gold and Brushed Bronze are the first finishes from Dornbracht’s new PVD production line, offering more variety in terms of the colour palette.
There will furthermore be a dedicated area for bespoke solutions, showing for example unique handle inlays which can be personalised to individual projects, using recent collaborations with Nature Squared and Glass Design as examples.
“We always look forward to HIX and the chance to hear from our A&D customers first hand,” comments Craig Johnstone, Sales and Marketing Director, Dornbracht UK. “Our finishes were really popular at HIX last year and we enjoyed the response from our visitors. HIX was the natural place to unveil our new Brushed Bronze finish and we look forward to the feedback this year. With the additional presence of Christian Sieger at our stand this year, we are looking forward to inspiring the industry again.”

About Dornbracht
Dornbracht, with headquarters in Iserlohn, Germany, is a leading specialist for superior designer fittings and accessories for bathrooms, spas and kitchens. The company was founded in 1950 and today is internationally renowned among architects, designers and luxury consumers for its product portfolio in more than 125 markets.
Weightless, powerful, refreshing: Serenity Sky from Dornbracht promises therapeutic water experiences. The new rain panel will be available with two or five flow modes from July 2024, and combines different principles in one product. Not only does this ensure complete and utter relaxation, but it also supports physical and mental wellbeing – fully in keeping with the motto “Follow Your Bliss”.
For Serenity Sky, Dornbracht worked closely together with Dr Christoph Stumpe. The head of the famous Shen Men Institute in Düsseldorf and an expert on Traditional Chinese Medicine played a vital role in developing the different flow modes. The standard variant of Serenity Sky, also available as a FlowReduce version with a reduced flow rate, includes Purify Rain and Full Rain. With Full Rain, the droplets fall gently and extensively. They fully cover the body, leaving only the face free of water. Purify Rain, on the other hand, impresses with a powerful jet of water for efficient cleansing and hair washing.
The enhanced variant, Serenity Sky+, has three additional flow modes: Laminar Flow, a concentrated and powerful jet of water that covers the skin gently and evenly. It is deeply warming but can also be used for cool Kneipp affusions to boost the metabolism and strengthen the cardiovascular system. Aquapressure Flow is used specifically for localised massaging of the shoulders and neck area. The solid and forceful water jet can help to release tension, reduce stress, and alleviate headaches. Cool Mist, on the other hand, produces a spray mist of tiny droplets that refreshes and revitalises. Thus, the rain panel from Dornbracht combines in one product principles from Kneipp therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and wellbeing research.
Other opportunities for individualisation are available in addition to the flow modes. If Serenity Sky is chosen with a light gap, different colours can be set to match the mood. Green, for instance, aids creativity, while red proves to be energetic and stimulating. The light can be controlled via any ZigBee-compliant smart home system, or by remote control. Seven finishes – from Chrome, to Champagne (22kt Gold), to Brushed Dark Platinum – also offer numerous options to seamlessly fit into any bathroom design.
Serenity Sky impresses with a compact design that can be integrated into various interior designs. The rain panel created by Sieger Design fits completely flush into the ceiling, with no obvious screw fastenings. Minimised radii and small gap widths also ensure elegance and precision. A specially curated nozzle arrangement reduces water consumption as well.
The fascinating interaction of water, light and effect produced by Serenity Sky is fully in keeping with the Dornbracht motto “Follow Your Bliss”: With its spa applications, the Iserlohn-based manufacturer invites users to integrate moments of happiness into everyday life, and substantially improve their quality of life.

Fittings manufacturer Dornbracht is adding new flush plates, which are compatible with selected Geberit cisterns, to its comprehensive range of accessories. When developing its products, the Iserlohn-based company has always valued holistically coordinated designs. Therefore the new flush plates harmonise with the existing series of fittings in terms of form, material, and finish.
The flush plates will be available in all Dornbracht finishes from July. As well as the classic Chrome variant, there is also a choice between Brushed Dark Platinum, Matte Black, or Durabrass (23kt Gold) finishes, for example.
The 169 x 246mm cover plates are 12mm deep, and available with round or square push-buttons. These match the form and size of the fitting rosettes on the washstand, the bath, and in the shower, to create a harmonious picture throughout the bathroom.
Dornbracht can customise the new accessories if desired, including different textures, colours, and materials. The new flush plates are compatible with all cisterns in the Geberit Sigma series from 2001 onwards and can therefore be used worldwide.
