Lucy Jones, Design Director at Studio Sempura worked closely with her clients, Farcroft Homes to design the Interior Architecture of four architecturally stunning semi-detached houses located only a stones throw away from Southbourne beach in Dorset.

Studio Sempura Ora Mare

This project, Ora Mare was not only an award winner for the United Kingdom Property Awards 2025-2026 but also an SBID Awards Finalist 2025 in the Show Flats and Developments Category.

Lucy worked on this project from the early planning stages to ensure the interior layouts offered the functional, impactful spaces that were suited to both modern family living and holiday retreats.

Studio Sempura Ora Mare

At Studio Sempura, Lucy pushes the boundaries for 'safe' Interior Architectural design by adding character and identity through the use of carefully selected colours and materials. Creating designs that are unique and impactful addresses one of the design challenges for developments which is to not only to stand out in the market, but appeal to the majority at the same time.

Studio Sempura Ora Mare

The kitchens and bathrooms are key selling points to any development so Lucy focuses on making sure these spaces are thoroughly thought through and designed to have a ‘wow’ factor. Applying clever, cost effective design solutions to create unique, impactful spaces. Lucy also designed stand out master bedrooms with bespoke joinery and en-suites. Whilst across the four houses, offering two colour schemes for the key rooms such as the kitchen and master bedroom allowed more choice for potential buyers.

Studio Sempura Ora Mare

The interior style of Ora Mare reflects the seaside location; with soft neutrals, blue accents, natural textures and bronze brassware for a timeless, contemporary aesthetic and an opulent, luxury look and feel.

Studio Sempura's company ethos is to be as environmentally conscious and sustainable as possible. Development projects are very budget driven, so this can be a challenge, but Lucy strives to achieve this in any way possible. Working closely with her clients, local business and suppliers to making sure the quality of every finish and product is as good as it can be to ensure longevity.

Studio Sempura Ora Mare

Some environmentally conscious design decisions for Ora Mare include the use of tiles made in the UK, as well as replacing tiles with wall panelling or even just paint where possible to still create a cleanable surface that’s a part of a more circular material. Other finishes such as the carpet were specified with at least 50% wool and the multi-drop pendant in the staircases is made from recycled glass. When styling and dressing the houses, Lucy uses a mixture of charity shop and second hand market finds, to smaller items coming from her own home. She avoids buying cheap furniture and props for single use. Everything is either stocked and used again or found another home.

Styled Home Design has completed the full renovation of a two-bedroom Victorian terraced home in Cambridgeshire, delivering a refined, high-specification interior tailored to the evolving needs of its owners. Appointed to provide a full interior design service alongside project coordination, the studio led the project from initial concept through to completion, ensuring a cohesive design vision and a seamless client experience.

The property had remained largely untouched for over 16 years and required substantial renovation to bring it in line with contemporary standards of comfort, functionality, and craftsmanship. The clients, who were downsizing from a five-bedroom family home, sought a space that felt calm, purposeful, and personal, without sacrificing quality or character.

The Client Brief

The clients were time-poor, well-travelled, and design-aware, with an established collection of furniture, artwork, and objects accumulated over many years. Rather than starting from a blank canvas, the brief focused on thoughtfully integrating these existing pieces into a cohesive new interior scheme.

Downsizing was a key consideration, with an emphasis on intelligent spatial planning, generous storage, and bespoke solutions that would allow the home to function efficiently without feeling constrained. The clients also wanted the property to reflect their eclectic tastes, favouring a layered aesthetic over a singular, prescriptive design style.

Styled Home Design

Design Concept & Aesthetic Direction

Styled Home Design adopted a multi-schemed approach, drawing influence from Scandi, mid-century, traditional, and Japandi design principles. This carefully curated blend allowed each space to feel distinctive while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the home.

Natural materials, soft neutral palettes, and warm timber tones were used to create a calm and balanced foundation. Against this backdrop, more characterful furniture and artwork could be introduced without overwhelming the interiors. The design approach prioritised longevity and restraint, ensuring the home felt considered rather than trend-led.

“Downsizing doesn’t mean compromising. This project was about refining how the clients live and ensuring every element of the home earned its place.” - Natasha King Founder & Principal Designer, Styled Home Design

Styled Home Design

Bespoke Joinery & Spatial Efficiency

Given the reduced footprint of the property, bespoke joinery became a cornerstone of the design. Custom cabinetry and storage solutions were designed for multiple areas of the home, maximising functionality while maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

Each joinery element was carefully detailed to complement the proportions of the Victorian architecture, bridging the gap between period character and contemporary living. By integrating storage seamlessly into the fabric of the home, the interiors retain a sense of openness and clarity despite their compact scale.

Styled Home Design

Respecting the Building’s Heritage

While the interior was fully reimagined, the renovation remained sensitive to the property’s original character. All existing windows were replaced with high-quality UPVC sash windows, selected to replicate the appearance and proportions of traditional Victorian sashes while significantly improving thermal performance and durability.

This approach ensured the external identity of the terrace was preserved, aligning with the architectural language of the street, while delivering modern standards of comfort and efficiency for the occupants.

Styled Home Design

Project Coordination & Delivery

In addition to interior design, Styled Home Design provided full project coordination, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the renovation. This proved particularly valuable for the clients, who required a trusted professional to manage design development, technical detailing, and on-site coordination on their behalf.

The studio’s hands-on involvement ensured clarity across all stages of the project, from specification and procurement through to installation, resulting in a smooth and controlled delivery process.

Styled Home Design

Outcome

The completed home is a considered response to both the clients’ lifestyle and the architectural context of the property. Layered, functional, and quietly elegant, the interiors successfully balance bespoke craftsmanship with personal expression.

This project demonstrates Styled Home Design’s approach to full-service residential interiors, thoughtful design, meticulous detailing, and a commitment to creating homes that are not only visually refined, but deeply practical and enduring.

“This project was about understanding what the clients truly needed from their home at this stage of their lives. By focusing on bespoke solutions, thoughtful layering, and restraint, we were able to create a space that feels calm, personal, and completely suited to them.” - Natasha King, Founder & Principal Designer, Styled Home Design

Situated in a peaceful, tree-lined suburb on the edge of Chester, Hidden Meadow is a newly built luxury family home defined by its scale, light and sense of calm.

Lewis Knox were involved from the early stages of the build to shape the complete interior vision, covering spatial planning, interior architecture, bespoke furnishings and final styling.

Lewis Knox - Hidden Meadows

Set amongst mature trees with sweeping views across the Cheshire plains, the property enjoys both the tranquillity of the countryside and the ease of village living. Our role was to craft every interior element to suit contemporary family life, guided by a timeless and refined aesthetic.

Throughout its expansive layout, we created a consistent design language that pairs simple architectural forms with layers of texture and tone. Considered spatial planning enhances both light and flow, while bespoke details in joinery, lighting and soft furnishings bring depth and cohesion to every space.

Lewis Knox - Hidden Meadows

The house unfolds gradually, offering balance between openness and comfort. It is conceived as a highly tailored sanctuary, deeply connected to its rural context yet elevated by its thoughtful design.

Generous proportions and tall ceilings lend a feeling of freedom, while also requiring careful consideration to ensure each area feels grounded. Circulation spaces were refined to improve sightlines and rhythm, introducing moments of visual interest that guide the eye naturally through the home.

Lewis Knox - Hidden Meadows

Collaborating closely with the architectural framework, we developed a complete interior identity that transitions seamlessly from one area to the next.

At the centre, a sweeping staircase draws attention upward with subtle drama. Sculptural in form yet gentle in expression, it combines a natural oak handrail with textured plaster walls that catch and soften the light throughout the day.

Lewis Knox - Hidden Meadows

To complete the interior, we will provide a full styling scheme, curating art, accessories and textiles that enhance warmth and personality across the home. Further updates will follow as the project continues to unfold.

What began as a simple reconfiguration evolved into a carefully layered family home, shaped over two years in response to the changing needs of a young family.

Lewis Knox
Lewis Knox

Lewis Knox's work started with a full spatial review to help the clients realise the full potential of their new property. With a clear goal to improve flow and day-to-day usability, we developed a series of proposals that enhanced circulation and function, forming the basis of a cohesive interior scheme. These plans were implemented in close collaboration with the builder to ensure precision and continuity throughout.

Lewis Knox

Custom joinery was introduced in every area of the home, creating a consistent visual thread while addressing the specific requirements of each room. Lighting and electrical layouts were drawn around detailed furniture plans to achieve seamless integration. Bespoke flooring, handcrafted fireplaces and a discreet, panelled doorway leading to a private cinema contribute to the home’s layered character.

Lewis Knox

As family life evolved, so too did the design. Guest bedrooms were planned to convert easily into nurseries, providing flexibility for the years ahead. At the centre of the home, a large open-plan kitchen links to a games room and central bar, forming a natural space for entertaining. Smaller areas were given equal attention: a feminine home office, a dedicated playroom adjoining the kitchen, and a well-organised utility and boot room that can be tucked away when not in use.

Lewis Knox

Every detail has been designed to serve both comfort and purpose. The games room encourages connection, with a tailored bar that draws people together and deep midnight blue walls that lend a touch of theatre. In quieter moments, the cinema room offers a hidden retreat behind panelled joinery, while the master bedroom brings calm through soft textures and minimal detailing.

Lewis Knox

The bathrooms follow a similarly tactile approach, combining natural stone, bronze accents and layered lighting to create spaces that feel indulgent yet understated. A soft neutral palette runs throughout the home, enriched by warm timber tones that add depth and balance.

Lewis Knox

Rectory House is grounded in practicality yet imbued with warmth. Every space invites connection, yet offers a sense of calm and retreat. It is a home designed for the present, and ready to grow with the family into the future.

Set within one of Shrewsbury’s most distinguished streets, Edge Hill is an exceptional new build spanning over 14,000 square feet of refined contemporary living. Designed to unite elegance and practicality, this landmark residence will establish a new benchmark for luxury homes in the area.

Lewis Knox

The project began with the expertise of renowned architects Anderson Orr, who secured full architectural and planning permissions. Their ambition was to design a home that feels both timeless and modern, combining classical architectural forms with a contemporary sensibility that reflects the surrounding context. The design is rooted in principles of symmetry, proportion and balance, all while maximising the property’s unique position and sweeping views of the landscape.

Lewis Knox

A defining aspect of the design is the seamless relationship between the interior and exterior. This is where Lewis Knox was brought on board to develop the interior vision. The home is conceived not merely as a place to live but as a space to experience, offering a sanctuary that feels naturally connected to its setting. Expansive glazing and open-plan living areas allow light to pour through the interiors, creating a sense of calm and openness that enhances the feeling of space throughout.

Lewis Knox

The property’s design is a reflection of its picturesque Shrewsbury surroundings. Classical forms and traditional details blend effortlessly with the local architecture, ensuring the home feels rooted and enduring. Inside, a muted palette of natural tones and tactile materials enriches the tranquil atmosphere and reinforces its sense of place.

Lewis Knox

Spacious, open-plan living areas form the social heart of the home. Designed for adaptability, these spaces accommodate family gatherings as easily as moments of quiet reflection. A fully equipped gym, indoor pool, bespoke bar and games room create opportunities for relaxation, wellness and entertainment within the comfort of home.

Lewis Knox

The principal suite occupies the entire second floor and serves as a private retreat. It includes a generous bedroom, personal study, walk-in wardrobes and a luxurious en suite, all arranged to offer serenity, privacy and ease of use.

Lewis Knox

Every aspect of the interior has been designed to complement the home’s architectural grandeur. A soft, textural colour palette brings warmth and cohesion to the spaces, while refined materials and bespoke finishes enhance the overall sense of craftsmanship.

Lewis Knox

With its harmonious blend of classic architecture and modern living, Edge Hill embodies understated luxury. As the project progresses, it continues to reveal the balance of form, function and feeling that defines the Lewis Knox approach.

The client’s brief was to create a tropical villa in Bali with Mexican influences. The exterior is brutal, with a natural stone finish that feels raw and unfinished. The interior is elegant, with a soft, understated colour palette that is both eye-catching and relaxing. The Villa was supposed to have a spacious sofa group where guests can relax. It also has a big swimming pool outside surrounded by a special seating area with an amazing рhoto zone where guests can enjoy the view and chill.

DM Projects
DM Projects

DM Projects were inspired by the Merzouga Desert in Morocco. With its endless, sun-scorched dunes and frozen air. The desert gives you a feeling of peace and quiet, as if it hides you from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A world of dunes and sun, rocky placers and scorched earth. I really wanted to recreate these feelings in the project, and when the proposal came to create a villa in a tropical Mexican style, I felt this was exactly what I needed.

DM Projects
DM Projects

I think this is a task in which it was necessary to soften the brutal exterior with a natural raw stone finish with an elegant, slightly simple, but at the same time breathtaking interior. For this, my team and I chose the ivory colour walls with a rough stone floor. The walls are plastered and have the raw texture to convey the mood of the desert.

DM Projects
DM Projects

I would like to highlight two main achievements of this project. The first one is the significant expansion of the visual area of the living room thanks to the recessed sofa group. This has created a spacious area from a relatively small room. When you sit on the sofa, the ceiling seems 5 metres high, which makes the space feel more open and airier.

DM Projects
DM Projects

The second achievement is the way we have made the room look cool and inviting. We have created a space where you want to relax and hide from the heat. Additionally, the interior design of the room continues the exterior and surrounding landscape of the villa, creating a harmonious and unified atmosphere.

About DM Projects

At DM Interior Design, our philosophy revolves around the belief that every space has the potential to inspire, uplift, and enhance everyday life. We approach each project with a deep commitment to balancing beauty and functionality, creating environments that are both aesthetically striking and practically suited to the needs of those who inhabit them. Our designs are rooted in timeless elegance, yet we remain at the forefront of innovation, blending classic principles with modern sensibilities. We believe that great design should not only be visually appealing but also sustainable, fostering a connection with nature and promoting well-being through the use of eco-friendly materials and practices.

II BY IV DESIGN is proud to announce the opening of SAMMARCO, a refined Italian steakhouse now open in downtown Toronto. This marks the third culinary venture by Michelin-starred Chef Rob Rossi and highly esteemed restaurateur David Minicucci, following the celebrated success of Michelin-starred Osteria Giulia and Michelin recommended Giulietta.

Rossi and Minicucci have established a reputation as industry pioneers by experimenting with colourful, fresh ingredients that honour their individual backgrounds. Together, their ties to the people and places that have influenced them throughout their prosperous careers have shaped the SAMMARCO experience.

Rooted in emotion rather than geography, SAMMARCO invites guests on a personal journey through memory, storytelling, and sensory immersion. Here, interiors and cuisine speak in harmony—each enhancing the other to create a richly layered experience where design, history, and culinary artistry intersect.

Inspiration

It began with a sketch—an idea rooted in the client’s desire to create a place that doesn’t exist, yet feels instantly familiar. SAMMARCO is not defined by a person or a place, but by a feeling. The experience unfolds like a memory wrapped in heritage, inviting every guest to find their own connection. Here, design and cuisine exist in dialogue, reframing how we understand space, storytelling, and the sensory power of hospitality.

A Design-Driven Dining Experience

The design draws inspiration from Italian heritage and contemporary luxury. Guests are greeted by an amber glass portal, leading into the bar area that is layered with deep wood tones and Barolo-hued upholstery. It’s a place where the first sip of a carefully chosen wine feels like an invitation to slow down and savour every moment.

A nod to Italy’s automotive legacy, custom furnishings with sleek leather seating are inspired by iconic marques such as Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, and Lamborghini. The terrazzo is hand poured and precisely swept into place replicating an arial macro view of Italy’s cobbled streets. This use of terrazzo flooring was not only a choice of aesthetics, but to awaken the senses. Beneath the hum of excitable guests, listen for the tapping of waiters’ shoes as they glide from table to table.

At the heart of the space lies the clover fountain, a bespoke sculptural centerpiece surrounded by intimate booth seating. Its curved form doubles as acoustic softening, while a polished illuminated orb is suspended beneath a sculptural ceiling that fans outward like sunbeams reminiscent of a Tuscan sunset. Light pours from the orb, casting a soft, diffused glow that accentuates the geometry above and anchors the space below. This ceiling isn’t just a finish—it’s a statement. It transforms the atmosphere, inviting guests to look up, linger, and feel immersed in a space where every detail has been carefully choreographed. A fusion of design and art, function and emotion, it sets the tone for an unforgettable hospitality experience.

Celebrating Craft and Canadian Artistry

More than a visual triumph, SAMMARCO champions generational craftsmanship and local production. Many of the restaurant’s key elements—woodwork, stone, glass, and metal—are handcrafted by Canadian artisans, echoing Italy’s legacy of master fabrication through a local lens.

The space also features the largest collection of Canadian art ever installed in a restaurant setting, a testament to the country’s rich creative spirit. This curated display spans from abstract to traditional, forming a cultural dialogue and reinforcing SAMMARCO'S role as a platform for both culinary and creative expression. Each work was personally curated by II BY IV DESIGN’s founding partners Dan Menchions and Keith Rushbrook to enhance the restaurant’s immersive ambiance, crafting a setting where art and cuisine come together in seamless harmony.

The Carlevale Room: An Homage to Legacy

Named in honour of revered Toronto restaurateur Michael Carlevale—an influential figure who helped shape the city’s dining scene throughout the 1980s and 1990s and is often credited as a driving force behind Toronto’s modern culinary identity—this space pays tribute to his enduring legacy. For Minicucci and Rossi, who were profoundly shaped by Michael’s friendship and inspiration, it felt only fitting to celebrate him in this way.

The private dining room is a sanctuary of elegance and reflection. Its walls reflect the sunwarmed golds of an Italian vineyard, while regal blue leather chairs encircle a striking bespoke table. Crafted with individually veneered pattern pieces and installed by hand on-site, the table mirrors the unique floor it rests upon—a testament to the care and craftsmanship at the heart of this space. Much like Carlevale himself, the room offers guests a dining experience defined by warmth, refinement, and unforgettable detail.

A New Icon in Toronto's Culinary Landscape

SAMMARCO is more than a restaurant—it’s a landmark of cultural storytelling, craftsmanship, and immersive hospitality. Through the convergence of food, design, and emotion, it sets a new benchmark for dining in Toronto.

Situated along the distinguished Cathedral Road in Cardiff, RAO INTERIORS' latest project reimagines the elegance and grandeur of late Victorian villas for contemporary living. These historic homes, originally conceived as individual residences, captivate us with their architectural charm: lofty ceilings, ornate cornicing, and generous proportions that reflect the craftsmanship of a bygone era. Our vision was to honour this legacy while introducing a modern sensibility that complements, rather than competes with, the original architecture.

RAO INTERIORS
RAO INTERIORS

At the heart of our design approach lies a commitment to balance. We sought to retain the period character of the property while infusing it with a sense of quiet sophistication through contemporary form and texture. Every element was thoughtfully considered- from the way natural light interacts with the interior, to the tone of materials and the dialogue between old and new. A bespoke luxury rug anchors the space, its intricate weave reflecting the layered narrative of the building itself. Carefully curated contemporary furniture pieces bring rhythm and functionality, enhancing the sense of flow without overwhelming the home’s historic framework.

RAO INTERIORS

Our chosen palette leans toward restraint, defined by soft neutrals and muted hues that amplify natural light and celebrate the building’s architectural details. This subtle backdrop allows texture to take centre stage - polished surfaces meet tactile fabrics, and heritage moldings sit effortlessly alongside clean, modern lines. The interplay of these materials creates both tension and harmony, resulting in a space that feels timeless yet distinctly modern.

RAO INTERIORS
RAO INTERIORS

Lighting, too, plays a pivotal role in the design narrative. We positioned each fixture with intention, highlighting ornate ceiling details and casting gentle shadows that evolve with the light of day. As evening falls, the atmosphere softens, revealing a warmer, more intimate character: proof that design can shape not only a space, but the way it feels to inhabit it.

RAO INTERIORS

Ultimately, this project represents our exploration of contrasts: history and modernity, restraint and expression, permanence and transformation. By allowing both the original architecture and contemporary interventions to speak their own language, we achieved a delicate equilibrium. The result is a home that feels both grounded in its Victorian heritage and elevated for contemporary life.

About RAO INTERIORS

There are projects that challenge you, and then there are projects that quietly affirm everything you stand for. The Shelford Project was one of those for Pinterior Space. Nestled in the heart of Cambridge, it began not with grandeur or excess, but with a shared desire to create a space that felt calm, connected, and deeply personal.

Pinterior Space

A Shared Vision, A Creative Partnership

From the beginning, the Shelford Project was a collaboration in the truest sense. The client wasn’t just receptive—they were deeply involved in every decision, bringing a clear vision shaped by Nordic simplicity and Japanese serenity. Their aesthetic instincts aligned beautifully with mine, creating a rhythm of trust and creativity that carried through the entire process.

Pinterior Space

Together, we explored slightly out-of-the-box materials and subtle design gestures that carried emotional weight. Whether it was a textured wall finish that softened the light or a quiet corner designed for reflection, every choice was made with intention and mutual respect. Their encouragement allowed me to push boundaries gently, crafting a space that felt both grounded and elevated.

Pinterior Space

This wasn’t just a project—it was a shared journey. And the result is a space that reflects not only my design philosophy, but the client’s clarity, openness, and belief in the power of thoughtful design.

Pinterior Space

Creative Precision Over Excess

The Shelford Project was never about doing more—it was about doing just enough, beautifully.
- A palette of soft neutrals and warm woods created a sense of calm
- Thoughtful lighting layered intimacy and clarity
- Every material was chosen for its emotional resonance, not just its aesthetic appeal

This was designed as quiet confidence. No drama. No spectacle. Just clarity, care, and cohesion.

About Pinterior Space

We are Interior design practice specialising in residential interiors. We are based in South Cambridgeshire where we work closely with our clients in a collaborative process to produce creatively unique, practical and beautiful spaces.

Ledbury Studio is delighted to present its latest design, the Hampshire Kitchen. This beautifully curated kitchen, pantry and utility space forms part of a meticulous renovation of a country house, located within the grounds of a Victorian walled garden.

Led by Charlie Smallbone and the team at Ledbury Studio, this project is a testament to the brand’s signature ethos: artisan craftsmanship meets timeless design. Working in close collaboration with interior designer Hollie Bowden and the client, their combined efforts have created a scheme that perfectly balances rustic simplicity with contemporary sophistication.

“This kitchen is all about balance,” says Charlie Smallbone, Founder of Ledbury Studio. “We wanted to create something that feels authentic to its setting – rooted in the craftsmanship and character of a traditional country house – but with just enough refinement and modern detailing to make it truly timeless. Every material, every junction, every finish has been carefully chosen to stand the test of time, both aesthetically and practically. It’s a design that feels both grounded and elevated, as functional as it is inspiring. The whole team is delighted with the finished result.”

At the heart of the kitchen sits a stainless-steel island, conceived as both a showpiece and a hardworking hub. It houses a striking Lacanche range cooker, paired with a bespoke stainless-steel hood complete with a rail for saucepans and utensils. Every element has been meticulously considered. The island’s custom-cast handles, crafted in stainless steel with brass accents, echo the oven’s detailing. In addition, the limestone worktop – sourced from The Once A Week Quarry in Bakewell – is edged in stainless steel and finished with a surrounding rail, lending the piece a distinctly tailored, architectural feel.

To allow the island to take centre stage, the surrounding cabinetry adopts a classic Shaker design, hand-painted in Cloth by Atelier Ellis, and paired with handmade, rustic wall tiles that add texture and warmth.

The pantry and utility room continue this understated, timeless aesthetic, painted in Tirzah by Atelier Ellis and complemented by dark-stained solid oak worktops and matching open shelving. The result is a cohesive and deeply considered design language that flows seamlessly throughout the home.

Together, these spaces form a masterclass in pared-back rustic chic – elegant yet inviting, stylish yet supremely functional. Built to be lived in and loved for generations, the Hampshire Kitchen exemplifies the artistry and craftsmanship at the heart of every Ledbury Studio project.
