Hiring an interior designer can feel like a leap into the unknown, so I wanted to take away some of that mystery. I’m Helen, and together with Simon I co-founded Lewis Knox. The truth is there’s no single way designers set their fees. Some charge by the hour, others use fixed fees, and some calculate costs as a percentage of the project. We like to stay flexible, tailoring our approach to what suits you best – and we’ll always make it clear and simple before you commit to anything. Designing a single room is a very different process to managing a whole-home renovation or a new build, and we adjust our involvement to suit. Costs between studios differ as well. I’ll be honest: we’re not aiming to be the cheapest option. Our focus is on creating well-considered, beautiful spaces while helping you avoid costly mistakes. Years of high-level training and experience mean we’ve learned to navigate – and solve – just about every design challenge you can imagine, saving you time and ensuring every detail is thoughtfully considered. Lewis Knox Our full-service design packages To keep things simple, we offer three levels of full-service design, each matched to different needs, budgets and expectations. Essentials – streamlined interior expertise. Ideal if you want clear, professional guidance but plan to manage some elements yourself. Includes floorplans and detailed room layouts, mood and direction boards, curated finishes and material palettes, lighting and electrical plans, flooring and decoration choices, and furniture and accessory selections with purchase links. Guide prices: 3-bed £18,950 + VAT · 4-bed £25,560 + VAT · 5-bed £28,500 + VAT. Signature – our most popular package. For clients who want a little more detail and involvement: a creative partnership that elevates your ideas with our expertise. Includes everything in Essentials, plus curated, cohesive design concepts, additional technical drawings and elevations, and key meetings and collaborative design sessions. Guide prices: 3-bed £25,560 + VAT · 4-bed £30,600 + VAT · 5-bed £36,000 + VAT. Premium – a complete, end-to-end service. Perfect if you want us to take care of absolutely everything, from initial concepts to final styling. Includes everything in Essentials and Signature, plus full technical drawing packs, photorealistic CGI visuals, extended design meetings and presentations, and comprehensive product sourcing from furniture to the finishing touches. Guide prices: 3-bed £42,600 + VAT · 4-bed £51,000 + VAT · 5-bed £60,000 + VAT. All guide prices are based on a typical full-home project and may vary depending on the specific requirements of your space. Lewis Knox Flexible consultations and ad-hoc services Not every project needs a full-service package, and that’s okay. We also offer consultations and ad-hoc support — whether you want help with a colour palette, a layout rethink or sourcing soft furnishings. You can book our time on an hourly basis, and we’ll give you a clear estimate once we understand your needs.
