GRAFF Announces its Bathroom Trend Predictions for 2025 17th January 2025 | IN DESIGN ADVICE | BY SBID

As we refresh for the new year and look ahead to 2025, leading global brassware manufacturer GRAFF shares its predictions for the key bathroom brassware trends to look out for next year.

Brushed Brass and Textured Finishes

This past year, we saw the rise of sleek silver and cool-toned metallics, but the new year is set to bring the rise of brushed brass as we look to warmer metals and aged aesthetics.

According to Ziggy Kulig, CEO at GRAFF, the move towards brushed brass comes from a desire to create inviting, authentic spaces. “Brushed brass and similar aged finishes are timeless as well as durable, adding warmth, character, and a touch of luxury to the bathroom and kitchen. The beauty and simplicity of brushed brass feels on trend, whilst being able to provide enduring style popular with those looking to create bathroom design with longevity in mind.”

“Brushed brass is also incredibly versatile, which means it lends itself equally as well to contemporary and traditional spaces. The best part is, brushed brass finishes will naturally develop a beautiful patina over time that will only enhance its overall appeal. GRAFF brassware is available in 26 finishes, including our vintage brushed brass and unfinished brushed brass, both of which are quickly becoming our most popular styles. Brushed metals are more muted in tone, giving them a universal appeal and pared-back quality that feels as at home in a bright, minimalist Scandi scheme as it does in a more opulent, marbled space.”

Smart Technology

The incorporation of smart technology throughout the home will continue to be a priority for homeowners as we continue to seek convenience in all aspects of our life. This will become a key consideration in 2025 as bathroom design that is low-maintenance, practical and comfortable comes to the fore.

Hygienic and easy to use, GRAFF launched its Sensor Taps that allows designers to create low-maintenance, beautiful spaces. The Sensor Taps feature an intuitive, discreet design and modern silhouette to enhance bathroom design and provide a luxurious experience. The touch-free technology prevents wear and tear of handles and fixture surfaces, ensuring longevity and easy maintenance.

Ziggy Kulig says: “At GRAFF, we believe that brassware should balance smart technology with beautiful design, making our bathrooms work harder. Our new Sensor taps were designed with functionality and aesthetics front of mind, with contemporary design supported by our advanced technology and engineering expertise.

“For those who might struggle to or are unable to clean on a regular basis, we recommend GRAFF’s durable PVD finishes, or our innovative Steelnox® technology. Designed to resist daily wear and tear and eliminate fingerprint marks, Steelnox® is a low-maintenance finish that not only provides a practical solution for accessible bathroom design but enhances it.”

Custom Designs

Bathroom design has always been personal, but there has been a growing desire to create bespoke bathrooms that are uniquely designed for their space and tastes. A demand for customisable brassware in particular will dominate bathroom trends in 2025, as consumers look to small changes they can make to give their space a personalised feel and unique touch.

Ziggy Kulig shares: “With many consumers adopting the ‘improve, don’t move’ mindset, customisable brassware can be specified to provide the finishing touch to a full bathroom renovation, or to add a personal touch in a smaller design refresh. For a luxurious and distinctive bathroom, GRAFF brassware can be personalised beyond standard chrome, black and white finishes, which is essential for giving designers full creative freedom. GRAFF is proud to offer 26 different finishes across our entire bathroom range- from brushed metals to matt black to ultra-luxurious 24 carat gold – designed to suit a multitude of design styles. For truly bespoke design, look to collections like MOD+, with custom finishes, materials and configurations that allow for more than 63,000 possible combinations.”

Mixed Metals

Despite the widely-held belief that metals shouldn’t be mixed, pairing a warm brass with chrome, nickel or matt black accents allows homeowners to create a layered look. Because taps and showerheads are more permanent fixtures in the bathroom, GRAFF recommend choosing timeless chrome or brass finishes, but these can be complemented by contrasting metals on details that are more adaptable, such as cabinet hardware, mirrors, and towel bars.

For those looking to embrace the mixed metal trend in 2025, Ziggy Kulig advises “to successfully layer different metal finishes within bathroom design, mix warm metals with cold metals for a balanced contrast. Cool-tones accents paired with warm brassware creates an elegant and characterful space, and an additional mix of finishes can further enhance the feeling of character and sophistication. Black finishes work great for creating visual interest with mixed metals, as it acts as a neutral that will compliment varied cool- and warm-toned metal details.”
