With more technology available to interior and architectural designers, the traditional approach to developing commercial projects is moving to exciting levels.
Your workflow is no longer just about providing 2D drawings and details; great visualizations and smart take-offs can all be a part of your design process. BIM for interiors is a more thoughtful way to design, organize, and face today’s challenges in the industry.
In this presentation - inspired by an elegant retail interiors project located in Tokyo by designers Mana & Takashi Kobayashi, IMA Inc. - Luis M. Ruiz, Int. Assoc. AIA, will discuss how you can increase your efficiency and win more work with an integrated data-driven 3D modeling process.

VitrA runs a series of virtual reality (VR) experience sessions in their London showroom. This showroom activity uses Virtual Worlds software to transfer bathroom designs into 4-D, enabling you to experience them on a whole new level. At each session, the user will be given a VR headset to explore a fully immersive virtual bathroom space, including turning on a virtual tap and interacting with the latest bathroom collections from VitrA.
The definition of BIM (Building Information Modelling) is now fairly well established, however, as Architectural design is not a one-size-fits-all approach, BIM workflows shouldn’t be, either.
This seminar aims to cover questions such as; What is BIM and what is design led BIM? How do design practices begin to use BIM? How does the integration process work? How do you determine the right level of BIM for the project?
The session will provide a high level overview of the BIM workflow, demonstrate real world case studies and provide practical advice on implementing BIM.
3D visuals can significantly enhance your project presentations and improve workflows. This seminar by Vectorworks looks at 3D modelling for interior design, and teaches you how to transition your designs from 2D into 3D.
A design-oriented BIM focus allows you to conceptualise and edit your project, while generating drawings and schedule in real time. This added benefit lets you refine construction details without compromising your creative process or scope of work.
The panel discussion addresses the use of augmented reality and virtual reality within the interior design industry. Hosted by Kesoon Chance, Industry Specialist and Interior Architect at Vectorworks and joined by Steve Brann, founder of Cadschool, the discussion will equip design professionals to understand and use design software and technology to enhance designs and show clients what they can achieve.
