The Myers Touch is thrilled to introduce its newest furniture partner brand, Caccaro, offering clients a range of custom-designed luxury solutions for their homes.
Renowned for its contemporary and innovative designs, Caccaro’s high-quality furniture combines functionality and aesthetics. Each modular furniture solution can be customised to create a unique look for their clients’ homes within open-plan living and kitchen spaces, living rooms, bedrooms, bookcases and home offices, with each piece meticulously designed to optimise space and functionality whilst maintaining a luxurious, elegant aesthetic.
One of the distinguishing features of Caccaro's furniture range is its attention to detail and superior craftsmanship. The brand showcases clean lines, and minimalistic designs made from premium materials, such as wood, metal, and glass. This blend of modern design principles and traditional craftsmanship results in contemporary furniture pieces that are both stylish and durable, but also stand the test of time.
For example, a new display within The Myers Touch studio is the Caccaro TV Frame system in Kera Invisible White with integrated LED lighting surround - it’s a beautiful example of a media unit system formed with different geometric shapes to display a TV, books and favourite decorative artefacts. The lightness of the suspended unit features a storage pull flap opening for storing TV items such as remotes etc that combined with the geometric bookcase displays, breaks the mould of the classic wall unit, to create a new concept of TV furniture for UK homes.
The added benefit of the design is that not only does it frame the TV unit within the furniture design to give it a new look and aesthetic, but the unit disguises the passage of cables from view.
Another new display in the studio from their range which showcases how functional storage can be beautifully displayed in a home is the Caccaro Wall Pillar display unit. Each unit is available in a range of exterior and interior finishes and with flexible internal arrangements to suit a range of interior design spaces, offering plenty of space to discretely store daily essentials such as coats, umbrellas, shoes and utility essentials.
Each Wall Pillar unit blends smoothly with the walls and architecture of your rooms, furnishing them with a touch of luxury and sophistication. Their design allows them to be placed in the middle of the room to separate two different areas thanks to their custom height options from floor to ceiling or positioned against a wall. The feature LED unit allows the Wall Pillars to be illuminated to create definition and interest within a scheme.
Caccaro also boasts an extensive sideboard range which includes their Wallover sideboard module; a free-standing double-sided storage unit solution that can be displayed in the centre of an open-plan living area to divide a space.
The Bookcase element is also designed to be accessible from both sides. It can be customised in size and contains several compartments. The integrated closed elements are functional storage units.
Alternatively, Caccaro’s custom-made curved sideboards are another example of an attractive storage unit available in their range with a choice of wood, lacquer or laminate finish.
Open-plan entrances and hallways can be kept tidy and functional with their ‘Entrance’ system which becomes an attractive furniture unit and provides a tidy, cosy entrance area where everything is at hand. The dual doors open like a treasure chest to reveal a capacious compartment, complete with a bench, shelving and a large shoe rack to house bags, shoes and coats.
Caccaro’s ‘Closet Office’ design answers the wishes of those who want a built-in desk and bookcase system that can be hidden away behind cabinetry doors when not in use and be customised to perfectly integrate into a kitchen, living room or bedroom space. The work surface is enclosed by two side swinging doors, which reveal hidden shelves that are perfect for storing books, notes and stationery.
The alternation of open and closed compartments dictates the rhythm of this geometric and functional composition. Both the upper flap door and the lower drawer can be fitted with a servo-drive mechanism for smooth opening with a simple touch. In the side of the module, hidden by the door, remotely controllable LEDs can be turned up and down depending on the mood you want to achieve.
Light accessories can also be customised in many of their systems including their floating Wallover Bookcase design. For example, the sleek Bookcase partitions allow LED lights to be recessed into the rear of the mounted wall system to create a striking, warm visual statement in your home to beautifully display books and artefact pieces.

In collaboration with FORMAFANTASMA, Silestone by Cosentino presents EARTHIC® LAB, a sustainability sub-brand that heralds a new generation of surfaces for the home. Conceived jointly with the renowned research-based design duo, the project challenges the conventional approach to design, prioritising production processes over mere aesthetic appeal.
Launching at Fuorisalone 2024 in Milan’s iconic Teatro Gerolamo, EARTHIC® LAB took visitors on a transformative journey, showcasing the new EARTHIC® surfaces whilst introducing a new sustainable approach to surface design using recycled, reused and advanced raw materials.
“The aim of EARTHIC was to establish a surface project as well as a sub-brand within Cosentino that could become a research platform to investigate how the company could make their processes more sustainable. We did not start from an aesthetic but from the idea of improving the sustainable components within the surface. Our collaboration with Cosentino is exactly this: an attempt to design a product from the inside out where the aesthetic choices also correspond to ethical and sustainable choices. Decision making from this perspective is what is relevant for design today at large”. - Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin from FormaFantasma
EARTHIC® LAB received a Special Mention in the Technology category at the Fuorisalone Awards 2024 for its innovation by restoring a balance between humans and their environment – alongside the use of technology in protecting the planet. This award marks a major milestone for the brand, confirming its journey towards sustain ability and environmental responsibility.
EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM is a capsule collection of three unique sustainable stone surfaces. EARTHIC® combines recycled PET, discarded Dekton fragments and post-industrial glass, alongside pioneering bio-resin derived from used cooking oil. Thanks to HybriQ+® technology, these colours are produced with 100% renewable electrical energy and 99% recycled water. EARTHIC® is the first collection to be made with Silestone XM – surfaces containing a maximum silica content of 10%.
By working with recycled and reclaimed materials, these components come together to create something extraordinary – with the aim to significantly decrease the extraction of raw materials, C02 emissions and soil erosion.
- FFROM 01 is a grey surface speckled with white recycled PET fragments creating a subtle yet intricate pattern that draws the eye and adds depth to the composition. The dominance of grey tones evokes a sense of calmness and simplicity that creates a subdued and pared back atmosphere. - FFROM 02 features a darker grey base elegantly punctuated with white speckled accents, creating subtle and visually attractive contrast. Its darker tone has a sense of modernity and minimalism, broken by the light specks on the surface that make the surface feel serene and beautiful with its simplicity. - FFROM 03 is a mesmerising yet elegant and intricate surface, with recycled PET scattered across the dark surface in a way that makes it feel reminiscent of the night sky or a geological specimen. The surface’s pattern brings a sense of movement and variability to interiors comparable to a piece of abstract art, to imbue spaces with depth and character.

Oxley’s first new furniture collection for 5 years, Petrosphere, is inspired by the enigmatic stone spheres left behind by the Neolithic peoples of Scotland. These curious stones are an integral feature in the new design and are a key detail on the armrests of the chairs, sofas and lounge chairs. As well as looking timelessly elegant, they offer a sense of enhanced comfort and relaxation when gripped and handled by anyone seated.
Simon Hudson, Managing Director of Oxley's Furniture, became mesmerised by these ancient artefacts. “It fascinated me that these ancient people went to the trouble of carving intricate patterns in stone just for the sake of it. They must have enjoyed the texture and the reassurance the finished stones gave. From this thought sprang my initial idea for the chair armrest, to have a Petrosphere-like-sphere that can be held and played with as you sit and relax in the chair.”
Oxley’s furniture is designed and built to be as timeless as the Petrospheres themselves. Produced by craftsmen using recycled aluminium, the furniture can be left outdoors all year round and is guaranteed to last a lifetime. Items are exported from Oxley’s factory in the Cotswolds to private residences around the world and Oxley’s collections can also be found in a number of boutique hotels which value the brand’s timeless design, sustainability and lifetime guarantee.
The new furniture is available in 3 sizes consisting of a round table, lounge chairs, sofa and coffee table. It will be available to purchase online from 1st May and will be displayed at the Oxley’s stand WA 186 at the 2024 RHS Chelsea Flower Show from 20-25 May. Do come and try out the new Petrosphere furniture range for yourself!

Silk has a rich history and has long been revered as one of the world’s most luxurious fabrics. While it boasts a storied past, silk seamlessly adapts to modern sensibilities. Vescom enriches its already extensive and varied textile wallcovering collection with the introduction of 10 new woven silk wallcoverings. Aligning with Vescom’s material-driven DNA, the new releases effortlessly bring silk’s classic yet contemporary opulence to today’s contract interiors.
Silk not only immediately evokes a sense of luxury but is also a beautiful bio-based resource, allowing us to connect with nature from the comfort of indoor spaces. Whether adorning the interiors of premium hotels, residences or exclusive boutiques, silk-based materials harmoniously align with other high-end natural elements such as marble and stone, softening the overall design scheme while introducing an additional layer of refinement and elegance.
Vescom’s woven silk wallcovering collection is both rich and diverse. The various structures and colours reflect the inherent beauty of silk, highlighting Vescom’s respect for the unique properties of materials. Despite being industrially manufactured and designed for the contract market, Vescom’s silk wallcoverings exude a handcrafted feel. You can still perceive the artisanal touch, whether through the impression of a silk loom or the visible slub.
The 10 wallcoverings showcase different facets of silk. With their raw appearance, intentional irregularities and more pronounced slub, Chandra and Madhura celebrate the unexpected beauty found in natural, artisanal materials. Design Ravi accentuates silk’s inherent lustre, which creates a soft luminance in interior spaces, while others like Nirmala are more matte. Some underscore their connection to nature through printed motifs – Bodhi depicting the Bodhi tree, a significant symbol of enlightenment in Buddhism; Dipti with irregular lines resembling mountain ranges or layers of the earth’s strata; Khilana with blossoms, referencing the Hindi meaning of the name. The patterns are printed using different techniques that produce different looks and feels, from three dimensionality to metallic effects.
With a wide array of 111 sophisticated colourways, the collection’s palette reinforces the natural connection, offering tones that span the spectrum of worldly wonders, from precious metals like gold, silver and bronze to soft, dusty pastels and the earthy elegance of terra rosa.

Karndean’s designers have travelled extensively to find the rarest and most exclusive woods and stones. Sourcing samples that exhibit the most beautiful features of each natural material, from the interesting wood knots and grains of Spanish holm oak to the iconic veining of Italian and Greek marbles and the pearlescence of Persian onyx, each design has been reimagined, painstakingly coloured to complement modern interiors and finished with a unique embossed surface and bevel detailing.
The result is a highly authentic, versatile collection suitable for a wide range of settings, from workplace and retail to hospitality and co-living. Whether using a single colourway in different laying patterns for room to room continuity, seamlessly blending areas in different materials to highlight activity zones or creating bespoke designs with unique colour combinations and hand-cut shapes, the new Art Select collection offers unsurpassed flexibility to conceive bespoke floors that stand out from the crowd.
From the high contrast design of English ash, available in four colourways as 48” x 4.5” stripwood planks, to a selection of characterful limed, washed artisan oak designs in a choice of large 56” x 9” and herringbone 18” x 3” planks, 20 brand new wood designs offer a unique opportunity to create expressive interiors with warm natural beauty and long-lasting elegance.
Featuring either a handscraped emboss which gives the bevelled edge a distressed, undulating appearance or an authentic registered emboss with pin sharp definition that traces the wood grain precisely, each design combines an exquisite aesthetic with the practicality of cutting edge flooring technology.
Exploring the historic Basque region of Spain, Karndean’s designers were inspired by a sample of ancient 400-year-old holm oak that we were lucky to acquire following necessary woodland management. A symbolic feature in the landscape, the acorns of the holm oak are a traditional feed for Black Iberian pigs, the source of the area’s famed jamón ibérico. Back in the design studio, the characteristic dark knots of holm oak were muted with a milky wash and the distinctive grain emphasised with a lightly scraped and brushed effect. Available in three neutral colourways in a larger 56” x 9” plank and a new 28” x 4.5” herringbone size, Basque Oak, Bellota Oak and Serrano Oak will introduce a richly distinctive style to any interior.
Making Italian chic an accessible and practical option, the new Art Select statement stone collection includes materials taking centre stage in the very latest luxurious interior trends. From the expressive veining of Greek marble and the exclusive beauty of Calacatta marble to the rustic terrazzo style of Ceppo di Gré, 19 new stone designs offer the opportunity to create immersive spaces that either soothe in cool white and light grey or introduce a touch of drama with charcoal and black.
A semi-precious gemstone in the quartz family often used for decorative panels and accessories, Persian onyx has a delicate patterning and translucent quality. Not suitable for flooring in its natural form due to its fragility and porosity, we have captured its pearlescent character and transformed it into a convenient format for designers looking to develop an ethereal and romantic ambience.
Available in a larger 36” x 18” tile with a smooth matte finish that minimizes reflection and a rounded bevel to allow the character of each design to shine, Black Onyx, Pearl Onyx and Rose Onyx are floors that will command attention in any room and perfectly balance decorative elements and bold furnishings.
In addition to 39 brand new wood and stone designs, Karndean’s Art Select range will incorporate existing Da Vinci designs in compatible formats, giving designers even more styling possibilities.
Designed for reliable performance in high traffic environments, the Art Select gluedown range features a 0.7mm wear layer and 3.0mm thickness and comes with all the practical benefits of Karndean flooring, an Environmental Product Declaration and the reassurance of a 20 year guarantee for commercial settings and a lifetime guarantee in residential settings.

Integrating or retrofitting air conditioning into a finished residential property presents a unique set of challenges. Careful integration of plant, preservation of existing finishes, protection of surfaces and furnishings, cleanliness, and minimising disruption are just some of the things that must be considered throughout the project. Without the right approach, achieving a solution that addresses all these points is impossible.
During a property refurbishment where a blank canvas approach can be taken, the possibilities for concealment and integration are endless. The number of options for retrofit installations are far more limited, particularly in the luxury residence where unsightly grilles can detract from specific and beautiful interior aesthetics. It’s crucial to engage a consultative designer to ensure a cohesive and discreet result is achieved.
In collaboration with the property owner or interior designer, air terminals and equipment can be selected to integrate within joinery and architectural elements with the least disruptive impact on the existing finishes, achieving a virtually invisible solution. Without this approach, the common result is an air conditioning installation that is distinctly and obviously an afterthought or after-market installation.
In an occupied and finished property, strategic design and planning is critical in minimising disruption and downtime. Indoor and outdoor equipment locations must be selected carefully, and all pipework, drainage and cabling routes assessed to ensure they avoid existing hidden services. All associated enabling works including surface protection, moving of furniture, lifting of carpets, opening up of voids, and any redecorating on completion need to be discussed and documented into a planned phased programme of works. It is of all importance that the building contractor carrying out these facilitating tasks is experienced, reputable and has correct and sufficient insurance cover.
Every residential property is unique, with different layouts, insulation levels, and usage patterns. A consultative approach allows the designers to tailor the air conditioning system to the specific needs of the property and its occupants through gaining an understanding the homeowner's preferences and lifestyle and combining this with the desired interior aesthetic of the property. Comfort is subjective and can vary greatly from one individual to another. Through consultation, homeowners can express their comfort preferences such as desired room temperatures, sound levels and air quality requirements. The system can then be designed to meet these preferences, ensuring optimal comfort year-round.
Integrating air conditioning into a finished residential property is a significant investment. A consultative approach ensures that homeowners are fully informed about their options, typical system running costs and long-term maintenance requirements. Air conditioning systems must comply with building regulations, local planning law and environmental standards. A consultation with a professional provider ensures that the proposed air conditioning solution meets all relevant requirements, removing the risk of non-compliance issues and potential fines or penalties.

Allison Lynch, Senior Designer at Roundhouse Design has given her insights into the industry.
Founded by architects over 27 years ago, Roundhouse is a multi-award-winning British company, creating beautiful bespoke kitchens and furniture. Our designs feature a signature understated aesthetic, influenced by contemporary and traditional design, using innovative materials, texture and colour. Each project is made to measure from a wide range of stunning finishes. Expertly crafted by skilled designers and makers in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Malvern, Worcestershire.
As we specialise in bespoke kitchens and furniture, we can accommodate any project, regardless of size or complexity. Our custom approach means we're not restricted to standard sizes, finishes, or details, allowing us to tailor each design to clients' exact specifications. Furthermore, all Roundhouse kitchens are meticulously made to order by skilled makers, giving us complete control over every aspect of the process, from design conception to production and installation.
Our sector allows for boundless creativity in space design, with no constraints on our imagination. Our commitment to precise joinery and all-British craftsmanship sets us apart in the market. At Roundhouse, we understand that everyday essentials like kitchens must cater to individual needs, and that's precisely what we deliver.
We start by inviting interior designers to discuss their initial concepts for the kitchen and surrounding areas. This allows us to ensure that the materials, style, and budget align with our offerings. We would then move to an initial design meeting with the client present in which we showcase our displays, providing insight into how we build our cabinetry, company ethos, and service process. It’s important that they see the value in using a bespoke British company and the steps we take to ensure they will be looked after and the kitchen will meet if not exceed their expectations. We feel too that the client needs to appreciate the quality and not just selecting their kitchen supplier from a directory. Afterall it’s a bespoke kitchen so speaking to them directly along with their interior designer will keep the lines of communication open. We pay close attention to the detail so all parties involved are on the same page.
Subsequently, we schedule another meeting to present the designs and quote. Prior to this, we involve the interior designer to address any design queries and costings. Often, interior designers join clients at this meeting to provide their approval once they see the designs and understand the costs. This collaborative approach extends to liaising with architects and builders when necessary. It’s a collaborative effort with the same goal!
It's challenging to pinpoint a single highlight because my role at Roundhouse Design is constantly evolving. With each project we explore new styles, materials, and layouts, ensuring that every endeavour is unique. However, one moment stands out: the opportunity to open the Cambridge showroom. After 18 years with the company it was a proud moment to be entrusted with such a responsibility and to be recognised for my strengths. This experience has kept my work dynamic, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. In the first month of opening, I had the pleasure of selling a kitchen to a couple seeking a unique style. I even had the chance to integrate a large fridge/freezer with Antique Copper metal doors - an exciting first in my tenure!
I find the most excitement in incorporating a standout island into the design. It's an opportunity to explore unique materials, whether it's in the stone or the cabinet door finish. At Roundhouse, we offer a range of options, from metal wraps to textured veneers and our own metallic paint finishes. The island is where the "wow" factor truly shines! Vented hobs integrated into the island have become increasingly popular and are now a staple in nearly every kitchen design. Additionally, prioritising storage solutions is crucial. Including a spacious pantry like our Fulham pantry is essential for functionality and organisation.
We aren't interior designers, so we can only speak from our recent experiences with clients. Their desire to refurbish their homes needs to be carefully considered for a timeless look, rather than just following current trends. With the rising costs of materials and services, clients are increasingly mindful of their budgets when investing in their homes, their most significant asset. They seek a cohesive design that flows seamlessly throughout the house, avoiding any elements that may quickly become dated. The kitchen in particular should not stand out in isolation but should blend harmoniously with the rest of the home. Therefore, interior designers face the challenge of selecting furniture and pieces that offer a classic aesthetic, durability, and suitability for family life. Design shows offer valuable inspiration and innovative solutions for storage and practical gadgets, enabling designers to incorporate useful and enduring elements into their projects.
I'm currently juggling several projects that are stretching my creative boundaries as the spaces feature expansive, open-plan layouts, with the focal point being the kitchen island. By incorporating a diverse mix of materials, we're able to craft kitchens that truly stand out. We are fortunate at Roundhouse to be able to meet this kind of brief as there’s such a range of options, from colour choices to unique finishes. It’s all very exciting!
We are finding the attention to detail is playing a huge role in the design and decisions of the clients. The style and finish of a handle has meant we have gone beyond our usual specifiers to look for something different. The way we play with stone worktops in the kitchen makes it another area where clients are keen to go beyond the norm, mitring stone edges to appear thicker, split level islands and textures in stone are all being implemented. I love that every kitchen I am designing at present is unique and no two are the same, which keeps it interesting and fun!
Being part of an extensive and diverse design community and building relationships. To be recognised for our high level of service, our design aesthetic and sustainability as a brand. With the accreditation of the SBID clients and interior designers have complete confidence when commissioning Roundhouse.
