Perched on the banks of Regent’s Canal, Little Venice sees the transformation of an antiquated bathroom into an eclectic pink and green sanctuary, as envisioned by the C.P. Hart Design team through its award-winning Design Service.

The Specification

The bathroom of Little Venice is an intimate space that required careful design consideration to fully optimise the floor plan. Working in close collaboration with the owner, the C.P. Hart Design team specified a generous inset bath with an integrated shower, a reduced-depth vanity unit and mirror cabinet for ample storage, and a wall-hung WC mounted beneath decorative niches.

Brushed Gold brassware features throughout the bathroom, all specified from C.P. Hart’s exclusive and highly sought-after Epoch collection. In the shower, a three-way diverter controls the overhead shower, hand shower, and bath filler. The Epoch wall-mounted mixer was chosen for the basin, installed above the Cielo Shui Washbowl in ‘Muschio’ to free space on the Cubik vanity.

“We boxed out the back wall to give the impression of a more open space,” explains the designers. “This allowed the Cielo Oval mirror cabinet to sit on the wall without infringing on the basin, whilst also creating a distinct separation for the ‘White’ Luminous Lume tiles and providing a ledge for accessories.”

The Result

“To add more depth and visual interest, we replaced the ‘White’ Luminous Lume tiles with their ‘Green’ counterparts in each niche,” shares the team. “Both the niches and Astro Tacoma Twin light, installed above the mirror cabinet, are dimmable – the perfect year-round ambience setter.”

“The owner originally briefed a checkerboard floor, though upon review of the 3D visuals, we decided the black and white pattern would prove too strong a contrast against the bathroom’s finishes. Instead, we opted for softer stone-effect grey and cream checked tiles, boasting a similar weathered aesthetic to the wall tiling.”

What are the origins of the brand?

CECOCECO started from a desire to innovate beyond what I had already achieved with ROE Visual, which I founded back in 2006. My initial fascination was with how lighting could transform spaces - not just physically but emotionally, making both commercial and artistic environments more dynamic and engaging. ROE Visual grew to be known for its quality and creativity, yet I saw potential for even more: to merge LED technology seamlessly with day-to-day aesthetics.

At CECOCECO, we design our products to be as visually appealing when they’re off as they are when they’re on. This dual functionality ensures that spaces are enhanced aesthetically at all times, not just when the display is active.

I’m particularly proud of how our technology allows interior designers to create adaptive environments that evolve throughout the day. From a serene ambiance for morning coffee to a lively backdrop for evening gatherings, the transformation is seamless. The beauty of our displays lies in their dual function: they enrich the environment both visually and functionally, ensuring that even when the lights go down, the space remains elegant and engaging. What value does your specialist sector add to the industry?

It started with a simple idea: what if spaces could react to us, change with us, and inspire us? With our LED technology, we’re turning that idea into a reality. Working with interior designers is something I enjoy greatly. It’s a partnership where both sides come to the table with unique ideas and a shared goal to transform a space. Our process starts with a conversation, where we really dive into what the designer envisions and what the space demands. This understanding forms the foundation of how we approach each project, ensuring that our solutions genuinely complement and enhance the design they have in mind.

We don’t just provide products; we offer tailored solutions. This means considering the specific size, shape, and aesthetic a designer is aiming for and making sure our offerings can be customised to fit seamlessly. It’s not just about the technical aspects - although we provide plenty of support there too, from installation help to troubleshooting. It’s about making sure that the designers feel supported throughout the process, ensuring that the final result is as functional as it is striking.

What has been your most significant company highlight or success from the past year?

This past year has been a big one for CECOCECO, especially with the launch of ArtMorph. This project really was a labour of love, years in the making, that aimed to marry top-notch display technology with beautiful design to literally light up a room. Seeing ArtMorph go from concept to reality and getting such positive feedback from both the design community and our customers is incredibly rewarding. It’s confirmed for us that there’s a real appetite for innovative, adaptable lighting solutions that don’t just fill a space but enhance it.

What are the latest trends you’ve noticed in your client’s requests?

We've seen a real shift towards nature-inspired designs. More clients are looking to bring the outdoors in, creating spaces that feel connected to nature. It’s not just about aesthetics anymore - there’s a deeper focus on creating environments that promote well-being through natural elements. This trend is really about blurring the lines between the indoors and outdoors, making nature a core component of the design, not just an afterthought.

There’s also been a big push for sustainability and innovation. Clients want materials that are eco-friendly but also cutting-edge in terms of technology and design. It’s about balancing responsibility with creativity - finding those innovative solutions that deliver both.

And finally, customisation and interactivity have become huge. People want surfaces that do more than just look good. They want products that engage, surprise, and even interact with their environment. It’s why designs like our ArtMorph, with its lighting effects and dynamic visuals, have become so popular - it’s not just a product, it’s an experience.

How do you see the interior design industry evolving in the year ahead?

In the coming year, the interior design industry will focus on sustainability and wellness, with a growing interest in eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired designs that promote well-being.

Bathrooms are one of the most essential spaces in any home, the focal point for relaxation as well as self-care. Beyond functionality, the aesthetics and comfort of your bathroom can significantly influence your mood and daily routine. This is where choosing the right bathroom furniture becomes crucial. However, with the plethora of options available, selecting the ideal pieces can be overwhelming. In this guide, Natalie Bird, Marketing Manager of Roca UK, provides a simple three-point checklist to help you navigate the process.

Step one: Assess your space

To begin, it is vital to assess the available space in your bathroom. Its size and layout will determine what furniture will fit comfortably without making the room feel cramped. Start by measuring the dimensions of your bathroom, including the floor space and the height of the walls. Consider any alcoves, nooks or protruding walls that could affect the placement of furniture. Mark on a plan the toilet, shower and basin, as these are the fixed points around which furniture must fit. Doors and windows can also limit where you place furniture, so ensure there’s enough clearance for doors to open and close and that windows aren’t obstructed. Additionally, evaluate your vertical space – tall cabinets or shelving units can be a great way to add storage without taking up too much floor space.

Step two: Determine your storage needs

Before choosing any pieces, it’s important to think about what you need to store and how much space you require. Start by identifying the shortcomings of your current bathroom set-up. Are your toiletries cluttered on the counter? Do you lack space for towels? Understanding these issues will guide you in selecting the right furniture. For instance, vanity units which combine a basin with storage space underneath are excellent for storing everyday items like toiletries, cleaning products and grooming tools. Roca’s Victoria-N range has a wide choice of vanity units with two or three drawers and in widths from 600mm to 1200mm.

In addition, make use of all wall space, including above the bath or toilet. Wall cabinets are perfect for storing items you don’t use daily but want within easy reach, such as medications or spare toilet paper. Also, think about shelving units, which are ideal for displaying decorative items or keeping towels handy. Finally, tall, narrow cabinets provide significant storage without taking up too much floor space – the Extra column unit coordinates with the Victoria-N range and is 1500mm high, so offers plenty of useful storage.

Step three: Focus on style and aesthetics

Storage is a highly functional element in the bathroom but that doesn’t mean it can’t also bring something to the look of the space. It’s important to focus on the aesthetics of the pieces you choose and ensure they align with the rest of the bathroom. Whether your bathroom is modern, traditional or somewhere in between, your furniture should both complement and enhance that style. Fortunately, where once bathroom furniture used to come only in timber-effect or white, there are now a whole host of colours and finishes to choose from. Founders & Design Directors, Keith and Helena Myers of The Myers Touch Kitchen Design Studio have announced their planned retirement from the industry after 21 years in business.

Leading their award-winning studio in Winchester, Keith and Helena Myers have mapped out a plan to retire by the New Year. Their team of designers, installers and business support staff have been informed of their decision and they are working closely with those individuals to plan this transition.

The Myers Touch team are completing the process of notifying all current clients of their commitment to complete projects. For any 2025 projects, they will ensure a smooth handover to one of their manufacturing partners. Suppliers are also in the process of being notified to ensure the successful completion of all projects.

The husband-and-wife team began their kitchen design business in 2003 with the vision to open a premium design studio and consultancy service that showcased state-of-the-art kitchen displays, growing the business over the years to one that is recognised as one of the leading kitchen design studios in the UK winning several retailer, showroom and project design awards over the past two decades.

Before embarking on a career in the kitchen industry, Keith and Helena had previously worked in global sales and account management in IT and pensions business process management in Insurance. Whilst raising three small children and being trained in engineering design and interior design, they gained architectural, interior and spatial design experience from overseeing three complete home renovations in their spare time, which gave them the confidence to both leave their jobs.

They began their dream of starting their design business journey from their home study, offering a home remodelling consultancy service with a focus on the kitchen space as the hub of the home.

In 2007, the design duo found a previous contemporary fireplace showroom just a stone’s throw from their family home which they turned into their Design Studio, remodelling the main space to showcase contemporary kitchen display examples and converting the original garage to their ‘designer’s hub’ space.

As their business grew, Keith and Helena began plans to expand the studio in 2015. The extension enabled them to double the size of the studio so they could showcase additional luxury kitchen displays and expand their hosting space for clients and customer events. This development turned the studio into a 210 sqm contemporary, state-of-the-art, ‘Mies Van Der Rohe’ style architectural building for architects and homeowners, which over the years has offered interactive kitchen displays from leading partner brands including eggersmann, Copatlife, KH Kitchens and SieMatic.

Their pioneering approach to kitchen design has led Keith & Helena to regularly host and take part in industry talks at RIBA, The KBSA, Grand Designs Live and Ask the Expert, KBIS (virtual), and The Homebuilding & Renovating Show – in 2022 Helena received an invitation to America’s largest industry show in Orlando, KBIS where she took part in a talk alongside other American industry experts. They have also been proud to have won many global and national showroom, retailer and project awards over the past two decades. Keith is a current Regional Director of the KBSA and a former Regional Director of SBID.

It’s not been an easy decision, as it’s never a good time to say goodbye to our studio, our wonderfully supportive and talented staff team, as well as the friends and partners we have enjoyed such fulfilling relationships with over the past two decades.

We are proud of what made our business stand apart in an ever-competing industry - our design approach has always been to ensure each of our designs enriches household relationships first and foremost and the homeowner's quality of life through the efficiency, relevance and beauty of their designed spaces bringing into a home what we are renowned for – creating kitchens with light, space & laughter.

We look forward to saying a personal thank you to our amazing staff for their long-term commitment and hard work over the years. We also want to thank our customers and industry friends who we have had the pleasure to get to know personally and professionally throughout our business journey. It was our vision in 2003 to create an award-winning showroom in the heart of our home town of Winchester and looking back we are proud to have achieved that and been privileged to have designed many exceptional kitchen living spaces for homeowners across the UK and Europe.

We will be watching from the sidelines at the future of an industry which we love, and we hope it continues to get the recognition that designers across the UK deserve.”

Available in round form, with a diameter of 360mm, or rectangular form, measuring 400mm × 230mm, it completely envelops the user.
