Set within one of Shrewsbury’s most distinguished streets, Edge Hill is an exceptional new build spanning over 14,000 square feet of refined contemporary living. Designed to unite elegance and practicality, this landmark residence will establish a new benchmark for luxury homes in the area.

Lewis Knox

The project began with the expertise of renowned architects Anderson Orr, who secured full architectural and planning permissions. Their ambition was to design a home that feels both timeless and modern, combining classical architectural forms with a contemporary sensibility that reflects the surrounding context. The design is rooted in principles of symmetry, proportion and balance, all while maximising the property’s unique position and sweeping views of the landscape.

Lewis Knox

A defining aspect of the design is the seamless relationship between the interior and exterior. This is where Lewis Knox was brought on board to develop the interior vision. The home is conceived not merely as a place to live but as a space to experience, offering a sanctuary that feels naturally connected to its setting. Expansive glazing and open-plan living areas allow light to pour through the interiors, creating a sense of calm and openness that enhances the feeling of space throughout.

Lewis Knox

The property’s design is a reflection of its picturesque Shrewsbury surroundings. Classical forms and traditional details blend effortlessly with the local architecture, ensuring the home feels rooted and enduring. Inside, a muted palette of natural tones and tactile materials enriches the tranquil atmosphere and reinforces its sense of place.

Lewis Knox

Spacious, open-plan living areas form the social heart of the home. Designed for adaptability, these spaces accommodate family gatherings as easily as moments of quiet reflection. A fully equipped gym, indoor pool, bespoke bar and games room create opportunities for relaxation, wellness and entertainment within the comfort of home.

Lewis Knox

The principal suite occupies the entire second floor and serves as a private retreat. It includes a generous bedroom, personal study, walk-in wardrobes and a luxurious en suite, all arranged to offer serenity, privacy and ease of use.

Lewis Knox

Every aspect of the interior has been designed to complement the home’s architectural grandeur. A soft, textural colour palette brings warmth and cohesion to the spaces, while refined materials and bespoke finishes enhance the overall sense of craftsmanship.

Lewis Knox

With its harmonious blend of classic architecture and modern living, Edge Hill embodies understated luxury. As the project progresses, it continues to reveal the balance of form, function and feeling that defines the Lewis Knox approach.

The client’s brief was to create a tropical villa in Bali with Mexican influences. The exterior is brutal, with a natural stone finish that feels raw and unfinished. The interior is elegant, with a soft, understated colour palette that is both eye-catching and relaxing. The Villa was supposed to have a spacious sofa group where guests can relax. It also has a big swimming pool outside surrounded by a special seating area with an amazing рhoto zone where guests can enjoy the view and chill.

DM Projects
DM Projects

DM Projects were inspired by the Merzouga Desert in Morocco. With its endless, sun-scorched dunes and frozen air. The desert gives you a feeling of peace and quiet, as if it hides you from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A world of dunes and sun, rocky placers and scorched earth. I really wanted to recreate these feelings in the project, and when the proposal came to create a villa in a tropical Mexican style, I felt this was exactly what I needed.

DM Projects
DM Projects

I think this is a task in which it was necessary to soften the brutal exterior with a natural raw stone finish with an elegant, slightly simple, but at the same time breathtaking interior. For this, my team and I chose the ivory colour walls with a rough stone floor. The walls are plastered and have the raw texture to convey the mood of the desert.

DM Projects
DM Projects

I would like to highlight two main achievements of this project. The first one is the significant expansion of the visual area of the living room thanks to the recessed sofa group. This has created a spacious area from a relatively small room. When you sit on the sofa, the ceiling seems 5 metres high, which makes the space feel more open and airier.

DM Projects
DM Projects

The second achievement is the way we have made the room look cool and inviting. We have created a space where you want to relax and hide from the heat. Additionally, the interior design of the room continues the exterior and surrounding landscape of the villa, creating a harmonious and unified atmosphere.

About DM Projects

At DM Interior Design, our philosophy revolves around the belief that every space has the potential to inspire, uplift, and enhance everyday life. We approach each project with a deep commitment to balancing beauty and functionality, creating environments that are both aesthetically striking and practically suited to the needs of those who inhabit them. Our designs are rooted in timeless elegance, yet we remain at the forefront of innovation, blending classic principles with modern sensibilities. We believe that great design should not only be visually appealing but also sustainable, fostering a connection with nature and promoting well-being through the use of eco-friendly materials and practices.

II BY IV DESIGN is proud to announce the opening of SAMMARCO, a refined Italian steakhouse now open in downtown Toronto. This marks the third culinary venture by Michelin-starred Chef Rob Rossi and highly esteemed restaurateur David Minicucci, following the celebrated success of Michelin-starred Osteria Giulia and Michelin recommended Giulietta.

Rossi and Minicucci have established a reputation as industry pioneers by experimenting with colourful, fresh ingredients that honour their individual backgrounds. Together, their ties to the people and places that have influenced them throughout their prosperous careers have shaped the SAMMARCO experience.

Rooted in emotion rather than geography, SAMMARCO invites guests on a personal journey through memory, storytelling, and sensory immersion. Here, interiors and cuisine speak in harmony—each enhancing the other to create a richly layered experience where design, history, and culinary artistry intersect.

Inspiration

It began with a sketch—an idea rooted in the client’s desire to create a place that doesn’t exist, yet feels instantly familiar. SAMMARCO is not defined by a person or a place, but by a feeling. The experience unfolds like a memory wrapped in heritage, inviting every guest to find their own connection. Here, design and cuisine exist in dialogue, reframing how we understand space, storytelling, and the sensory power of hospitality.

Photography by: David Whittaker

A Design-Driven Dining Experience

The design draws inspiration from Italian heritage and contemporary luxury. Guests are greeted by an amber glass portal, leading into the bar area that is layered with deep wood tones and Barolo-hued upholstery. It’s a place where the first sip of a carefully chosen wine feels like an invitation to slow down and savour every moment.

A nod to Italy’s automotive legacy, custom furnishings with sleek leather seating are inspired by iconic marques such as Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, and Lamborghini. The terrazzo is hand poured and precisely swept into place replicating an arial macro view of Italy’s cobbled streets. This use of terrazzo flooring was not only a choice of aesthetics, but to awaken the senses. Beneath the hum of excitable guests, listen for the tapping of waiters’ shoes as they glide from table to table.

At the heart of the space lies the clover fountain, a bespoke sculptural centerpiece surrounded by intimate booth seating. Its curved form doubles as acoustic softening, while a polished illuminated orb is suspended beneath a sculptural ceiling that fans outward like sunbeams reminiscent of a Tuscan sunset. Light pours from the orb, casting a soft, diffused glow that accentuates the geometry above and anchors the space below. This ceiling isn’t just a finish—it’s a statement. It transforms the atmosphere, inviting guests to look up, linger, and feel immersed in a space where every detail has been carefully choreographed. A fusion of design and art, function and emotion, it sets the tone for an unforgettable hospitality experience.

Celebrating Craft and Canadian Artistry

More than a visual triumph, SAMMARCO champions generational craftsmanship and local production. Many of the restaurant’s key elements—woodwork, stone, glass, and metal—are handcrafted by Canadian artisans, echoing Italy’s legacy of master fabrication through a local lens.

The space also features the largest collection of Canadian art ever installed in a restaurant setting, a testament to the country’s rich creative spirit. This curated display spans from abstract to traditional, forming a cultural dialogue and reinforcing SAMMARCO'S role as a platform for both culinary and creative expression. Each work was personally curated by II BY IV DESIGN’s founding partners Dan Menchions and Keith Rushbrook to enhance the restaurant’s immersive ambiance, crafting a setting where art and cuisine come together in seamless harmony.

The Carlevale Room: An Homage to Legacy

Named in honour of revered Toronto restaurateur Michael Carlevale—an influential figure who helped shape the city’s dining scene throughout the 1980s and 1990s and is often credited as a driving force behind Toronto’s modern culinary identity—this space pays tribute to his enduring legacy. For Minicucci and Rossi, who were profoundly shaped by Michael’s friendship and inspiration, it felt only fitting to celebrate him in this way.

The private dining room is a sanctuary of elegance and reflection. Its walls reflect the sunwarmed golds of an Italian vineyard, while regal blue leather chairs encircle a striking bespoke table. Crafted with individually veneered pattern pieces and installed by hand on-site, the table mirrors the unique floor it rests upon—a testament to the care and craftsmanship at the heart of this space. Much like Carlevale himself, the room offers guests a dining experience defined by warmth, refinement, and unforgettable detail.

A New Icon in Toronto's Culinary Landscape

SAMMARCO is more than a restaurant—it’s a landmark of cultural storytelling, craftsmanship, and immersive hospitality. Through the convergence of food, design, and emotion, it sets a new benchmark for dining in Toronto.

Situated along the distinguished Cathedral Road in Cardiff, RAO INTERIORS' latest project reimagines the elegance and grandeur of late Victorian villas for contemporary living. These historic homes, originally conceived as individual residences, captivate us with their architectural charm: lofty ceilings, ornate cornicing, and generous proportions that reflect the craftsmanship of a bygone era. Our vision was to honour this legacy while introducing a modern sensibility that complements, rather than competes with, the original architecture.

RAO INTERIORS
RAO INTERIORS

At the heart of our design approach lies a commitment to balance. We sought to retain the period character of the property while infusing it with a sense of quiet sophistication through contemporary form and texture. Every element was thoughtfully considered- from the way natural light interacts with the interior, to the tone of materials and the dialogue between old and new. A bespoke luxury rug anchors the space, its intricate weave reflecting the layered narrative of the building itself. Carefully curated contemporary furniture pieces bring rhythm and functionality, enhancing the sense of flow without overwhelming the home’s historic framework.

RAO INTERIORS

Our chosen palette leans toward restraint, defined by soft neutrals and muted hues that amplify natural light and celebrate the building’s architectural details. This subtle backdrop allows texture to take centre stage - polished surfaces meet tactile fabrics, and heritage moldings sit effortlessly alongside clean, modern lines. The interplay of these materials creates both tension and harmony, resulting in a space that feels timeless yet distinctly modern.

RAO INTERIORS
RAO INTERIORS

Lighting, too, plays a pivotal role in the design narrative. We positioned each fixture with intention, highlighting ornate ceiling details and casting gentle shadows that evolve with the light of day. As evening falls, the atmosphere softens, revealing a warmer, more intimate character: proof that design can shape not only a space, but the way it feels to inhabit it.

RAO INTERIORS

Ultimately, this project represents our exploration of contrasts: history and modernity, restraint and expression, permanence and transformation. By allowing both the original architecture and contemporary interventions to speak their own language, we achieved a delicate equilibrium. The result is a home that feels both grounded in its Victorian heritage and elevated for contemporary life.

There are projects that challenge you, and then there are projects that quietly affirm everything you stand for. The Shelford Project was one of those for Pinterior Space. Nestled in the heart of Cambridge, it began not with grandeur or excess, but with a shared desire to create a space that felt calm, connected, and deeply personal.

Pinterior Space

A Shared Vision, A Creative Partnership

From the beginning, the Shelford Project was a collaboration in the truest sense. The client wasn’t just receptive—they were deeply involved in every decision, bringing a clear vision shaped by Nordic simplicity and Japanese serenity. Their aesthetic instincts aligned beautifully with mine, creating a rhythm of trust and creativity that carried through the entire process.

Pinterior Space

Together, we explored slightly out-of-the-box materials and subtle design gestures that carried emotional weight. Whether it was a textured wall finish that softened the light or a quiet corner designed for reflection, every choice was made with intention and mutual respect. Their encouragement allowed me to push boundaries gently, crafting a space that felt both grounded and elevated.

Pinterior Space

This wasn’t just a project—it was a shared journey. And the result is a space that reflects not only my design philosophy, but the client’s clarity, openness, and belief in the power of thoughtful design.

Pinterior Space

Creative Precision Over Excess

The Shelford Project was never about doing more—it was about doing just enough, beautifully.
- A palette of soft neutrals and warm woods created a sense of calm
- Thoughtful lighting layered intimacy and clarity
- Every material was chosen for its emotional resonance, not just its aesthetic appeal

This was designed as quiet confidence. No drama. No spectacle. Just clarity, care, and cohesion.

About Pinterior Space

We are Interior design practice specialising in residential interiors. We are based in South Cambridgeshire where we work closely with our clients in a collaborative process to produce creatively unique, practical and beautiful spaces.

Ledbury Studio is delighted to present its latest design, the Hampshire Kitchen. This beautifully curated kitchen, pantry and utility space forms part of a meticulous renovation of a country house, located within the grounds of a Victorian walled garden.

Led by Charlie Smallbone and the team at Ledbury Studio, this project is a testament to the brand’s signature ethos: artisan craftsmanship meets timeless design. Working in close collaboration with interior designer Hollie Bowden and the client, their combined efforts have created a scheme that perfectly balances rustic simplicity with contemporary sophistication.

“This kitchen is all about balance,” says Charlie Smallbone, Founder of Ledbury Studio. “We wanted to create something that feels authentic to its setting – rooted in the craftsmanship and character of a traditional country house – but with just enough refinement and modern detailing to make it truly timeless. Every material, every junction, every finish has been carefully chosen to stand the test of time, both aesthetically and practically. It’s a design that feels both grounded and elevated, as functional as it is inspiring. The whole team is delighted with the finished result.”

At the heart of the kitchen sits a stainless-steel island, conceived as both a showpiece and a hardworking hub. It houses a striking Lacanche range cooker, paired with a bespoke stainless-steel hood complete with a rail for saucepans and utensils. Every element has been meticulously considered. The island’s custom-cast handles, crafted in stainless steel with brass accents, echo the oven’s detailing. In addition, the limestone worktop – sourced from The Once A Week Quarry in Bakewell – is edged in stainless steel and finished with a surrounding rail, lending the piece a distinctly tailored, architectural feel.

To allow the island to take centre stage, the surrounding cabinetry adopts a classic Shaker design, hand-painted in Cloth by Atelier Ellis, and paired with handmade, rustic wall tiles that add texture and warmth.

The pantry and utility room continue this understated, timeless aesthetic, painted in Tirzah by Atelier Ellis and complemented by dark-stained solid oak worktops and matching open shelving. The result is a cohesive and deeply considered design language that flows seamlessly throughout the home.

Together, these spaces form a masterclass in pared-back rustic chic – elegant yet inviting, stylish yet supremely functional. Built to be lived in and loved for generations, the Hampshire Kitchen exemplifies the artistry and craftsmanship at the heart of every Ledbury Studio project.

About Ledbury Studio Ltd

Charlie Smallbone needs little introduction. The founder of iconic brand Smallbone of Devizes, he has been pushing the boundaries of kitchen design for over 40 years. The client’s brief was to transform a compact 55 sq.m. apartment in Kyiv’s Unit.Home complex into a highly functional and visually expansive space for a young couple. While working within the limitations of size, the goal was to maximise natural light, integrate smart storage solutions, and create a sense of calm, understated elegance.

The clients wanted the apartment to feel modern yet warm, with flexible living zones, high-quality materials, and a design that would stand the test of time both aesthetically and practically.

As the interior designer, Victoria Moshchynska's aim was to translate these priorities into a cohesive interior where every detail—furniture, lighting, textures—worked not only for comfort and function, but also for emotional resonance and visual harmony.

Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling
Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling

The design was inspired by the challenge of creating a sense of spaciousness, tranquillity, and individuality within a compact footprint — while responding to the character of its context. The apartment is located in Unit.Home, a newly developed residential district in Kyiv known for its contemporary architecture, thoughtful planning, and green surroundings.

I wanted the interior to reflect the overall spirit of the neighbourhood: modern, intelligent, and forward-looking — but at the same time to offer a deeply personal, warm and emotionally resonant atmosphere.

Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling
Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling

Natural oak wood set the tone, adding tactile warmth and continuity throughout the space. The glass partition between the bedroom and living area was used to maximise light and openness, while bespoke furniture and sculptural accents introduced personality and rhythm.

Inspired by the softness of European minimalism, I combined clean lines with rich textures and a refined palette — soft blue, deep burgundy, and warm neutrals — to ensure the home felt calm, inviting and unmistakably individual.

Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling
Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling

One of the main challenges was working within a limited budget while still delivering a high-end, custom look. The clients valued quality and aesthetics, but every design decision had to be cost-effective and efficient.

To overcome this, we collaborated closely with local manufacturers to develop bespoke solutions that were both budget-friendly and visually refined. For example, instead of using expensive wall cladding systems, we designed a more economical version of oak paneling that still achieved the warm, continuous effect we envisioned.

Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling
Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling

Another hurdle was the compact size of the apartment — just 55 sq.m. Every centimetre had to be carefully considered to maximise functionality without compromising on flow or visual harmony. Bespoke furniture, integrated storage, and multifunctional design elements were essential in resolving this constraint.

Ultimately, the success of the project came from a balance of creativity, technical precision, and clear communication — both within the design team and with the client.

Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling
Victoria Moshchynska Interior Design & Styling

The highlight of the project was the decision to wrap all the walls of the apartment in warm oak paneling — a bold move that initially raised concerns. The client was hesitant, worried that so much wood might make the space feel darker or heavier, especially given the apartment’s compact size.

However, the result was the exact opposite. The natural tone and vertical rhythm of the oak panels brought visual warmth and calm, creating a unified, elegant atmosphere that felt both contemporary and timeless.

This effect was further enhanced by the glass partition between the bedroom and living area, as well as the apartment’s tall windows, which allowed natural light to flow freely and interact beautifully with the wood throughout the day.

Convincing the client to trust this vision — and then seeing how much they embraced and loved the final result — was a truly rewarding moment for the entire team.

When x+why first got the keys to the Arding & Hobbs building in central Clapham, it was clear this was going to be a project like no other. Originally constructed in 1910 as a drapery and fabric store, this Grade II listed building has been a beloved local landmark for over a century.

Interaction were honoured to collaborate with x+why to transform this building into x+why’s newest coworking site and private members’ club, after it had sat vacant for five years. We worked alongside x+why’s talented design team in a detail and build role, helping to bring the flex space operator’s vision to life. Our shared mission with x+why was clear: create a high-end, intricately-detailed workspace and private members’ club that would honour the building’s heritage while fostering a new, vibrant community in Clapham.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

"Interaction have been brilliant to work with on this landmark project. From the start, they took the time to understand the building’s history and our design intent, and they’ve done an exceptional job bringing that vision to life. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are second to none, and they’ve been a real joy to collaborate with throughout." - Phil Nevin, CCO, x+why.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

A Workspace Like No Other: Two Distinct Sides

The finished space offers a blend of historic charm and modern functionality. On one side, a coworking area provides dedicated desks, 30 serviced offices, phone booths and podcast room, all designed to accommodate businesses of all sizes looking for flexible office space in one of London’s busiest neighbourhoods. Reflecting the demand for high-quality, characterful workspaces, the flex space was already 50% let before opening, surpassing projections and demonstrating the viability of investing in well-designed, heritage-led flexible spaces.

On the other, Clapham’s first private members’ club, The Arding Rooms, feels glamourous and luxurious. The space offers a restaurant, bar, bookable lounges and meeting rooms, as well as an events space including an auditorium and anteroom. Designed for a day-to-night transition, the club is bright and welcoming during the day, ready to transform into a moody, indulgent social space in the evenings – perfect for evening drinks.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

Inspired By History: Faded Glamour

This entire project is a celebration of detail, quality and heritage. We worked to enhance and compliment the building’s historic features, including its vast domed roof light, intricate mouldings, exposed brickwork and the iconic cupola – soon to be repurposed as a rooftop bar with views over Clapham and Wandsworth.

The design inspiration was ‘Faded Glamour’ – a layered elegance that hints at a grand past while feeling relaxed and unpolished. Think patinas, velvets, tarnished metals and aged finishes. Every detail has been chosen to make the space feel as if it’s been part of Clapham for a century – conjuring all the atmosphere of a vintage cigar lounge, only without the smoky haze.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

Design choices were inspired by the subtle colours from the dome, with soft yellows, deep purples, blues and greens echoed in upholstery and finishes. A star motif from the dome now runs subtly through the building, appearing in drawer pulls, vintage mirrors and the bespoke banquette seating.

References to the building’s history as a drapery are woven throughout, including a poetry quote above the bar – ‘until the fabric speaks & the textile is the text’, embossed in gold-leaf. The bespoke aged oak herringbone flooring, chosen for its durability, ties seamlessly with the historic surroundings, each plank having been tumbled with stones to create a timeworn finish.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

Artisan details bring a further layer of richness: a handmade mirror in the bar was crafted using traditional silver nitrate techniques, while gold-leafed handwritten signs from Bath-based Newbigin Signs guides visitors through the space. Lighting was integral to the design, creating a space that feels moody and welcoming simultaneously, with period-inspired feature lighting sourced from Jim Lawrence and Felix Lighting adding warmth and character throughout.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

"Working precisely to x+why’s innovative design, the aim was to preserve the building’s rich heritage. It’s rare to work on a site with so much character, and we’ve taken great care to preserve those special architectural features while introducing a premium design that will inspire the community for years to come. It’s truly a unique workspace!" - Martha Gray, Creative Lead, Interaction.

Photographer: Jack Hobhouse

Design Features: Details That Matter

In celebration of the building’s history, the meeting rooms are named after haberdashery terms. Styling pieces sourced from local markets and vintage stores echo the soft colours and star motif of the domed roof light, with the motif also appearing in bespoke joinery crafted by Berdalout. A traditionally-made, handcrafted mirror adorns the bar. Even the toilets carry a sense of indulgence, designed to capture the feel of glamorous days gone by.

City Residence, a 3 bed, 2 bath pied-a-terre designed by Nora Chou, located within the heart of Hong Kong’s commercial district, turned tourist destination - Tsim Sha Tsui.

Chou's team completed a full gut out and refurbishment of the property with a boutique hotel inspired aesthetic. They created a space that allows for the client to detach from the activity of the city. The nature of the building being enclosed within the constructs of other high-rises, encouraged a design approach that evolved around creating a calm and restorative mood.

Photography by Common Studio

The process involved working with local skilled craftsman to create bespoke joinery and finishes as well as custom furnishings and doors. In particular, the feature of a custom metal encased glass door, unique to the property, separating the entertaining and resting spaces is one of Chou's favourite moments at City Residence.

Typical of Hong Kong properties and especially city dwelling in general, the layout of apartments tends to be more compact. As such, creating layered moments through customization became imperative in the design of the property.

Photography by Common Studio

For instance, integrating built-in storage solutions assisted with creating a seamlessness in each room, enhancing a calm and restorative mood. Utilising pocket doors also contributed to the general feeling of openness within smaller rooms.

The living area features a rug, ‘Spring Buds’ in Chou's hand-selected ‘Sunrise’ palette, from her rug collection exclusively designed for Silk Avenue. Available in bespoke sizes and colourways. Read this article here to discover Chou's process in designing 'Sky & Earth'.
