Creating a long-term vision for SBID

The Executive Board is the heart of the organisation, responsible for policy setting and steering SBID’s direction. All decisions made by the Board are based on the latest research and feedback from the industry stakeholders and consumers.

Dr Vanessa Brady OBE

An internationally recognised award-winning interior designer with over 30 years of experience, she regularly speaks on business development and finance overseas on behalf of the UK government for the creative industries.

Diana Celella
SBID President

Diana is also the Chairman of the SBID healthcare Council. As Director of her own practice, with 30 years’ experience in both residential and commercial sectors, her specialism is healthcare design.

Alex Brownless

Alex has worked for retailers such as M&S, Banana Republic and Gap. As Co-Founder of Arts Thread, the world’s only creative graduate network, Alex has helped hundreds of creative graduates gain employment worldwide.

Niall Trafford

Niall is Chief Operating Officer at BRE Group and has significant operational experience in retail management. In his previous role at M&S he was involved in developing the company’s approach to sustainable retailing in the built environment.

Gerald Bowey

Gerald Bowey is the Chief Executive Officer of International Building Press with over 40 years’ experience in business-to-business marketing communications and brand awareness for sectors such as industrial relations, insurance and instrumentation to architecture, property and the built environment.

Lavinia Engleman
Business Development

Lavinia is Manager of the SBID International Design Awards. She was responsible for the strategic development and successful delivery of the Awards program and affiliated events from 2011. She has a Master’s degree in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh.

Basit Roy
Chartered Accountant

Basit is an ACCA (Associate of Chartered Certified Accountants) and received a MBA in Financial Management and BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting.

Andrew Rolfe

Andrew was a Partner at Clifford Chance LLP specialising in major infrastructure projects and property development work. A lawyer since 1988, his expertise is grounded in Private Finance Initiative and Public-Private Partnerships (PFI/PPP).
