Davenport Woods - Yacht

'Awards by prestigious bodies like the SBID, play a very important and much welcomed role by designers  in bringing interior design professionals to the forefront and raising their profiles where deserved.

As a designer I entered this competition not only for the reason given above but also for a much more personal one, to gauge the professional opinion of truly respected design colleagues in my field, of my work, irrespective of aesthetic, across the board of other celebrated designers. The response of multiple nominations is one I will truly always cherish and remain forever proud of.'

- Curtis Davensport

Emmanuelle Moureaux - Sugamo Shinkin Bank Shimura Branch. Tokyo, Japan

'The reason I entered the award, is because it is organized by the Society of British Interior Design, so I supposed it will be a high level award. And because I am a Frenchwoman living in Tokyo and I would like my projects will be more known in Europe.'

- Emmanuelle Moureaux

Ian Smith - Edinburgh, UK

'I think the SBID Awards are a great idea; we need more done that promotes professionalism and quality of design in our industry. In the past we have suffered as a profession because of our lack of regulation and still do. Only when we get our professionalism over to the general public will Interior Design be recognized as a worthy and valued profession. The SBID awards have given us a tool to promote and increase our company profile, for that we are very thankful.'

- Ian Smith

Powell & Bonnell - Oakville Residence

We were excited to compete amongst, what we knew, would be an unrivaled body of work from well recognized firms around the globe.'

The SBID is an association that gives voice and encourages both designers and society to love design, to understand it and to give it the value it deserves.'
