The Trade Fairs department of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the UK is promoting for the first time Ecobuild to Italian companies, the most important show dedicated to sustainable design, construction and renewable energies. To meet international renewable energy policy targets and, in response to the financial crisis, many governments are spending their economic stimulus funding towards new green jobs the renewable energy sector can provide. To better target UK companies, the Italian Chamber has signed a partnership agreement with the Society of British Interior Design (SBID) the UK member of the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) A well planned marketing campaign has been put in place by Fiera Milano to favour business and fulfill the demand from an increasingly growing supply, which includes hotel accomodation and transfers to/from airport/hotel/exhibition centre to the buyers of our members who join the delegations to Italy for various trade shows throughout the year.

Macef – the major international home show – held its last show at the Fiera Milano City exhibition centre before its move to the new Rho-Pero centre. Macef is a fantastically sized exhibition offering all price levels on almost every type of product for the home and contract interior. Five companies of Fiera Milano have recently merged and this first show has already produced an increase of 6%.

The show also provides break-out points and displays throughout the 24 pavilions bringing all the new developments and products of the interior sector, whether they are manufacturers, part of the distribution chain or are from the design community

The Society took a delegation of 50 Design professionals to the event and attended the Gala dinner of over 600 guests. The event has been established for over forty years and attracts visitors from around the world.
