The best designers and retailers in the kitchen and bathroom industry have been revealed at the gala kbbreview Industry Awards black tie dinner which entertained around 800 guests and at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and ran alongside KBB Birmingham – the largest UK trade exhibition dedicated to the kitchen bedroom and bathroom industry.

SBID was pleased to be one of a prestigious line up sponsors and The Society of British Interior Design Chairman, Vanessa Brady, presented the Designer Awards for Kitchens project cost under £25,000 to first time winner – Dominique McLaughlin. Dominique from James James Kitchens in Cheshire who scooped the Award said: “I am absolutely ecstatic to have won this award. It was a very emotional moment for both me and my mother, who owns James James Kitchens. We are only a small company and have worked very hard, so to be recognised by other professionals is a big achievement. It is a huge accolade.” All in all, the awards were another great success and only the start of the support from SBID in improving the quality in the industry.

In hard times it is great to see the industry get a boost. The KBB show and the supporting kbbreview Awards showed that if you position your company to be the best, you will ride out the recession – and we have some great interior designers here in the UK. Quality, service and attention to detail MAKE a difference. The kbbreview Industry awards were another great success and only the start of the support from SBID in helping to improve the quality of design within the industry. To all the individuals that won awards at the ceremony, SBID would like to congratulate you all. The quality was of a very high standard and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
