On behalf of Roca, esteemed SBID members, we are delighted to offer imvitations to an award presentation with a twist. Ron Arad will be introducing the winner of the Roca Jump the Gap Young Designer Award as well as personally providing an evening of unique entertainment.
Ron Arad Presents… The winner of the 4th prestigious Roca Jump the Gap International design competition on Thursday 3rd November at the recently opened and already much acclaimed Roca London Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid.
Not only will Ron Arad be presenting the award, to add a little extra fun to the occasion, Ron will also be showcasing his ‘impossible’ ping pong table and challenging Roca’s guests to a contest.

Launched in 2010 at 100% Design, the competition to date has been an enormous success with 365 project submissions received from 49 different countries.
This unprecedented level of participation consolidates Jump the Gap’s position as one of the leading international design competitions, and as such, a launch platform for young talent in the fields of product design and architecture.
This year’s exceptional jury comprises leading personalities and key names from the fields of architecture and design and includes Ron Arad, designer and architect, UK, Gilda Bojardi, editor in chief Interni magazine, Italy, Josep Congost, design manager Roca Innovation Lab, Spain, Javier Mariscal, designer, Spain and Marcel Wanders, designer, The Netherlands
From a short list of 30 projects, the Jump the Gap jury has selected the winner who will receive a prize of 5,000 euros.
The Jump the Gap International Design Contest, created by Roca, with the collaboration of the BCD (Barcelona Design Center), is aimed at architecture and design professionals and students aged under 35 from around the world, and represents an opportunity for them to present the most innovative solutions for the bathroom space.
Created to be so much more than just a display space, the Roca London Gallery will become the focus for a wide range of activities, the criteria being a celebration of design in keeping with the Roca brand and company values and therefore the perfect place to present the Jump the Gap award.
